Speaking of Oldie-but-Goodie threads, the Goon Penpal Thread has been around in it's current form since 2011! The thread was originally in GBS but was moved over to CC during a mass thread purge/reorganization a few years ago so the turnover of new and lapsed members isn't as high as it was at the peak. But, we'd love to have some new Pals!  Getting snail mail that isn't bills or political ads is fun and good, especially when you're stuck at home/bored for the COVID sequester. Plus you can support the USPS (who will deliver you awesome stamps like holographic t-rexes and glittery bats if you want). International Goons welcome as well.

It's hard to check this thread to see if you're posting a repeat, and I absolutely cannot believe that someone else hasn't posted this thread. So sorry for the probable repeat; I did try looking through to see if it was already here. I hesitate to call this a "best read" because the subject matter is pretty upsetting, but 50s girl groupon is doing an amazing job of documenting their challenges with Hodgkin's lymphoma in PMF. Not every engaging, interesting, or emotionally resonating thread is going to be a lighthearted comedy romp. I personally enjoy seeing all the ups and downs of the forum; it's also nice to see goons lend a hand, or be able to lend a hand yourself. I would say absolutely post threads like that!
