AW poo poo I gotta cut down and upload some of my stuff, I have Chimera Squad bugs galore. The camera in this is jankier then ever before, and that's an achievement for the series.

I am in the mood for the video of that crime game where the dude just starts doing this sexy grind up and down during the convo.

What was that? The art is very rotoscoped and the game I thought was serious.

Hopefully the following emotes help:

Ignore my posts!
I'm aggressively wrong about everything!
A friend of mine has introduced me to what's now one of my new favorite speedrunning glitches:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve-4YqvDwtQ

For a brief primer on what's going on here, Persona 3 has plot progression based on calendar dates, with the final bosses of the game taking place on January 31st. On the night of that day, every single way you could possibly pass time is disabled.

...except that they missed one single event. From the description:

quote:

By starting the Tanaka's SLink (Devil) on 1/31 you can skip finishing Tartarus and fighting Nyx entirely while still getting the true ending.

Devil SLink requires raising Hermit SLink to rank 4, having at least rank 4 courage, and 40000 yen. After getting rank 4 Hermit, Tanaka will be at Paulownia Mall every day of the week until you start his social link. Normally on 1/31 you cannot do any activity at Paulownia Mall that would consume time, however you can still talk to Tanaka. By timing the third time you give him money to be on 1/31 you can start his social link and skip the rest of the night, bypassing being forced into Tartarus. The game will skip right to 3/03 and you will still get the true ending.

Technically not glitching, but this tool-assisted speedrun of Family Feud from the SNES is still a real treat.

Those NES Family Feud/Jeopardy/etc games are amazing, the pattern matching for answers is very obviously broken as all hell

I don't think I'll ever forget the first time my brother and I decided to try NES Jeopardy. We were both around 12 years old, and we're Australian, so a good chunk of the questions were completely alien to us, on topics and celebrities we'd literally never heard of. Eventually it gave us a question where the answer was, in hindsight, probably meant to be "Mister Rogers", but I couldn't remember his name, the timer was pressuring me, the controls sucked, and I didn't know what to do, so I entered "W MISTER PEDO"

Ding! Correct answer! :thunk:

good to know I wasn't the only one to immediately think "wow I've never seen a substation explode realistically in a game before"

looks like it's stacking poo poo-tons of sprites used for distant lighting and the bloom is having a great time with it. it's very neat looking, whatever it is

I think what it's doing is that it's essentially only looking to see if the letters are there, in order, and ignoring superfluous details like "all the other letters in between the right ones".

Yer, that was the logic that held in my mind for the longest time, but I'm like 99% sure I've both seen answers that don't match that logic and answers that are shorter than the correct answer being treated as correct, so god only knows. I honestly suspect it might be similar to that, but order doesn't actually matter and you don't need 100% of the characters, lol. It seems to have some kinda leeway for spelling mistakes and stuff too.

wonder how hard it'd be to reverse engineer, could be a fun project and "W MISTER PEDO" has been amusing me for like 16 years

It ignores double letters and some answers have several correct options. The letter order has to be correct though.

I've said it before, but ragdolls are the best thing to happen to video games ever.
One of my favorite things in Overwatch was the very brief moment just as a player died where the physics engine saw players as having zero mass, which means if you managed to hit someone with an explosion just as they died they'd fly off into the skies, or if they died in the middle of a movement boost like Genji's dash or Pharah's rocket boost they'd also go flying.

Here's someone setting it up on purpose:
