^^^^ these are called closed-corner frames I do all my own custom framing using conservation materials and techniques. It's really not that hard to learn how to do and the materials are usually reasonably priced compared to what you'd pay for the same plus labor at a frame shop. If you want to go that route I'd recommend https://www.americanframe.com/ or https://www.framedestination.com/. Ikea has some fun designs for frames but I would strongly dissuade anyone from using them for anything of value or which cannot be duplicated. The frames are cheap fiberboard, the glass has no UV coating, but worst of all is the mats and backings are not acid free, so over time you will permanently discolor anything coming in contact of them. If you can swap out the mat and backer board you'll be in better shape. Any of the very large Ikea frames I'd probably skip on too, the fiberboard can't take the hanging weight and after a while the screws attached to he hanging wire will probably be pulled out. The coolest frames we own are the ones I made myself with wood I found on the side of the road. You just need a miter saw, wood glue, something internal or external to join the pieces, and then you can get custom glass cut at lowes.

Sofa swatches came in. I ordered every grey they had and included a velvet (5) and vegan leather (15) samples just for reference. Feedback from a female friend who's more conservative in her aesthetic likes 3, 9, 12. Male friend who has a similar aesthetic likes 3, 4, 12.  3 (100% polyester, solvent/water cleanable, 20k rub count): I think this is a really interesting idea, especially in the small quantity on the swatch, but it seems like a lot in the full render.  4 (20% linen/80% polyester, solvent cleanable, 15k rub count): I worry about the durability of the linen. Looks nice in the render but there's something about the swatch that gives me pause.  9 (55% polyester/45% acrylic, solver/water cleanable, 50k rub count, pet friendly): I worry this is too tan. I like the render, but the reminds me a bit of straw baskets which I associate with scratchiness. However, it's the most durable and the only pet friendly option of these four.  12 (100% polyester, solvent/water cleanable, 20k rub count): Incidentally, this is the render I've been sharing. I like the close-up texture, but I worry it looks plain in the render.  I personally rank them 12, 9, 3, then 4. I worry about 12 looking flat from afar but it obviously has coloration up close. 9 definitely gets points for durability but it reminds me of oatmeal. I want to be brave and go with 3 but worry it might be a bit much. 4 is just... it's fine but it's the least durable of all Inside Weather's fabrics. For reference the other side of the living room will look like this, and I'm thinking of a dark blue or green rug:

Before I even looked at the ratings 12 was also my favorite. You have good taste  I think you'll be very happy with that one, and the walnut legs look great too. Is there a way to not have the tv blocking the window? I have a question about filling wall areas - I'd prefer to just have the print on the right side be on this wall, but I feel like it will leave too much space on either side. Are there any good guides on reducing the amount of stuff on the wall without it feeling too empty? I noticed a lot of (staged) modern interiors have very little on the wall, but it always looks good!

This is a TV tuned to static in couch form. All of the grays look fine for the most part, but don’t be afraid of looking at something in the blue-gray or gray-green range. They look a lot more neutral in practice than you might expect.

I'm going to post some more pics of my bedroom - overall I'm very happy with this room - it's very comforting and has the blue/gray/walnut kind of palette I'm looking for. I just got this plant which I think looks really nice and adds some vibrant color. The dresser (and nightstand) will be upgraded to something of actual quality, like the walnut copenhagen series from room and board (https://www.roomandboard.com/catalog/bedroom/dressers/copenhagen-dressers). I'm wondering about what to do with that corner though - I don't really need that crappy bookcase, and most of the books on it I will either be selling once stores open up again. I do use the radio (for my dog lol) but that could go on the dresser. Is there some other way I could fill that space? Perhaps move the dresser over more? If my new dresser is the longer kind it would probably make the question moot, but I'd prefer a 4-5 drawer tall over a wider one with two columns of the drawers Also I might put the hamper in the closet as it does look kind of weird there.  On this side, my only issue is that stupid intercom high up. I don't use it at all (if someone comes by they just call me). I did put up a little print there, but the problem is that's well above high level, so I think it looks a bit awkward. It might be okay to just leave it like this though.  Okay please ignore the crap on the floor  Why the hell is the electric box there??? Who the gently caress decided that? Is there any way to cover that up given it's in such a weird spot (i.e. right next to the change in the wall angle)?  this is the same pic as above. I'm wondering if I can get away with having just the right print be on this wall. Above the bed it looks awkward because it's pretty much square. One option I would be interested in is a sconce that could go above the bed. However I honestly very rarely have any lights at on in this room - when I'm reading in bed it's with an e-reader so it's not necessary. If I want to read a physical book I sit in the other room next to a lamp

Testing bedroom with a chair with my hoodie on it :p wave radio seems to work well next to the plant, though again this dresser is Ikea so I'm amazed it hasn't caused it to break apart. In reading about minimalism, one of the first things mentioned was just to leave an area empty or at least decluttered for a while. The chair may seem like it's not enough now, but perhaps that will change!
