I used to have a copy of Justice League vs Avengers but it seems to have been lost over the sands of time (either in a move or lent to someone and never saw it again). Anyway I noticed it's not available unless I want to fork out hundreds of dollars to some secondary seller on Amazon (I don't) which is fine, but what I really don't understand is that it's not available on comixology either. Is there some reason for that?

The publishing deal between Marvel and DC has probably expired and Disney has bought Marvel in the mean time so working out a new one has likely gotten a lot more complicated.

Probably wouldn't be too hard to find the individual issues

Though since it's not available legally in either print or digital I don't think it really would be an issue to just :filez: it

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask, but what's up with the Squirrel Girl hardcover releases? When can I realistically expect the fifth one to be released? I don't buy a lot of Marvel so it's a bit of a mystery to me.

I just realised the "Marvel 2099" thread is not just for Marvel 2099 stuff, but is in fact just a Marvel thread.

According to Kurt Busiek, DC have the printing rights but even before Marvel was bought out they never used them.

He posted about it on FB late last year and said it was unlikely to ever happen now. I kick myself for never buying the Amalgam trades when they were on closeout back in the day as those will also likely never be reprinted again.

No. They are orange boys, so Val(encia) and Clem(entine) are my current thought (the rescue has them named Bo and Luke and eh), but nothing is decided yet.

Those are cute names.

A friend of mine took in a pregnant cat right before the quarantine, so she got to spend the last couple months with some adorable kittens that are going to their forever homes in a week or so. She took some cute pics with them in her Catra cosplay.

Yet where is that woman now? Tell me, in what heave does she reside? None of them. Because no God bothered to listen or care. If that is what you think it means to be a God, then you and all your teachings are welcome to do as that poor women did. And vanish from these realms forever.
Weird elseworlds idea: Clark and Lex Luthor become good friends when their kids like he did with Lana. Clark confides in both Lex and Lana about his alien origin and powers, like in most continuities. And then, you know, everything else happens. Might be interesting exploring the slow falling out between the pair and add an extra dimension to their eternal rivalry.

There's other darkweb sites specifically for that (that are generally all obvious FBI honeypots), and I'm gonna assume that on top of that, anyone who's able to set up an online drug marketplace and has it take off would end up with some offline underworld connections.

e: Like, Silk Road wasn't quite as horrifying as people have telephone-gamed it into being, but it's also not the only thing on TOR, and most of the stuff people lay at its feet (CP, hitmen, guns) is 100% totally available on other darkweb sites.

Floating an idea out there to see if there would be interest:

Here’s the context...

In SAS we’ve been doing this hockey fantasy draft thing for years where we pick players and talk about why we picked them. It’s not for anything, really, just fun to talk about hockey some more for a few weeks. Usually end up doing a bunch of research and learning more about the players that you pick or even just look at. With covid happening we switched to an all time draft to while away some of the time. After hockey, a bunch of us did a baseball draft, which is almost finishing. I know next to nothing about baseball but have learned a bunch since doing this.

A couple years ago the board game thread over in trad games did the same thing, but with board games. Draft your all time list of games and talk about why they are on your list, talk poo poo about what others picked, question why picks went early or which ones went late.

So I was thinking... would anyone be interested in doing a comics creator draft?

Like, each person participating is creating a fake comics company and needs to hire their staff. They’ve got a certain number of staff slots for editors and artists and writers and whatever. Then we do a snake style draft and pick creators, justifying why we picked them and talking about how they fit into the company we’re building. Maybe about what kind of books you think would come out of them. Could be a fun way to learn more about creators other people love and to do some interesting thought experiments about what kind of comics would come out of collaborations like Eisner and Ennis.

From experience in the SAS drafts, these are typically 4-6 week things, but obviously would depend on how many people participate.

Anyway if there’s interest expressed I’ll put together a thread.

These are generally a very fun way to while away some time talking about things that we like in greater depth than you might get from a normal discussion thread. I highly encourage anyone interested in it to just sign up. The time commitment usually isn't as significant as it might initially seem.

He’s good. He’s done some New Mutants, some Amazing Spider-Man, Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways, and is currently writing Hellions and Antman. Great sense of humor, and has a good voice for the characters. He hasn’t written a lot of comics because he makes more money writing for tv.

I seem to recall not really liking his early work but as time went on he showed a great understanding of young characters that felt realistic. I was hoping he'd get a Young Avengers relaunch at some point.
