His channel is called "the Family Gaming Team" so I'd assume that yes, they are his kids. So not only is this guy responsible for raising children but also a woman let this man have sex with her :psyduck:

And he's basically exploiting them for youtube money which makes it even creepier.

So many of these channels that feature kids are like that. There's at least one featuring kids playing with various new toys where both parents are media/advertising execs.

God, those youtube channels give me real gross chills, like that entire thing is incredibly uncomfortable to look at.

Yeah the "let's exploit children!" YouTube channels are really creepy. The whole world of children's YouTube just gives me the creeps and it's led to some weird poo poo already. Like how PewDiePie has become a major presence in the lives of millions of kids.

I guess it's kind of inevitable? When I was a kid I was on Newgrounds watching flash animations about Columbine so who even knows. That stuff gave me some bad nightmares. I don't think there's ever been a successful way of protecting kids online tbh.

This skews way younger. The idea is that little kids don’t care about quality, so you just jam your video full of stuff that is popular with kids: Frozen, superheroes, dinosaurs, toys, etc. There’s no rhyme or reason required.

Even the better stuff is so...calculated. Blippi is popular, but his video is just a dude visiting a playground or sandbox, peppering it with extremely basic factoids about dinosaurs or cars with no theme or anything, and boom: you label it educational videos for kids. It’s almost like evolution, as these creators adapt to changes in both the algorithm and parental concerns over YouTube junk. So just take things to the new bare minimum and rake in the cash.

Worse still are the shows featuring actual kids, and who knows what the parental involvement and treatment of those kids actually are. I can’t imagine a healthy childhood when it’s fueled by YouTube analytics so you can sell more blindbags at Target.

I just wonder about the parents who left their very young children on YouTube and came back to find them watching the Hitler's Finger Family or something like that.

On one hand I understand the rationale of exposing children to as many ideas at a young age as possible to get their synapses firing, but not all at once. Give them a book about dinosaurs, let them watch Frozen, let them watch Wild Kratts, give them age appropriate toys. Don't give them a video of Elsa playing with a rubix cube while riding a T. Rex that is chasing down Chris and Martin. Not only should kids be exposed to ideas, but they need context for them, which is the biggest issue with these videos targeted at children. They're a nightmare mishmash of concepts thrown into a blender with no regard for context that can lead children to come away with a warped impression.

I finally convinced my brother to not let his kids use youtube after seeing my 7 year old nephew watching Minecraft videos full of adult and racist jokes.

He's banned from youtube. Unfortunately now he's watching the minecraft youtube videos that partnered with Amazon on the app. Thankfully they seem to be pretty kid friendly.

Hey! That's better than the "kids" videos which GTA mods with Disney/Marvel/DC/Peppa Pig characters. My brother banned his preschool age kids from Youtube as well. He used Youtube Kids for a while but it still has a lot problems with kid-appropriate content (and doesn't let you queue multiple videos with Chromecast). Now they are only allowed Muppets and whatever kids' cartoons are on Netflix and it's been waaay better.

Let's play... catch, more like!!!!

What I find interesting is eventually the children being exploited in these videos will grow up enough to the point to realize it, and hate it. Either refuse to do it, or deeply deeply deeply begrudgingly do it. A torn family dynamic, trust issues develop, etc. That'll be fun for future therapists to unpack.

Well, he's done a collab with Caddicarus, and other channels featured on his page include BrutalMoose and PushingUpRoses, so...yeah, massive chud.

More seriously, his Icewind Dale video was absolutely terribe, but then that was like seven years ago. I recall watching his video on Dracula: The Resurrection, and I picked the game up because he made it sound like it would be fun. Haven't followed his stuff outside of that, but then I tend to recuse myself when it comes to channels covering adventure games.

My nephew has taken to renting Toy Story so many times he racked up a 200 dollar charge. He now spends his time trying to get into whatever accounts his "let the technology raise them" parents let him get access too and try buying stuff. He recently got in trouble cause while there was no card tied to the account, his mom's unlocked PS4 account had some sony currency in it which he used to buy a fortnite avatar.

I don't think it'll be any worse for their mental state than the weird and gross reality show stuff FOX put out when we were kids. Like Who's Your Daddy aired all the way back in 2005 on the premise of making someone who was adopted as an infant guess their biological father. The fake dad contestants had to try to trick the adoptee into guessing wrong to win.
