Right, I'd just placed all the Princesses (and Seahawk and Bow) as roughly the same age, except for Netossa and Spinny who are clearly a bit older.

Edit: what a lovely snype. Here's some art Noelle posted:

The show has a real problem with not making anyone's ages clear at all, which would be fine if they were all the same age, but they're not. Entrapta is in her late 20s, Sea Hawk and Mermista are mid 20s I think, and Netossa and Spinnerella are old enough to be married and have been part of the previous Princess Alliance. All while Catra, Glimmer, Adora, and Bow are actual teenagers. Frosta is the only princess visibly younger than anyone else.

Judging by the fact that only Bright Moon gets a queen while everyone else is run by princesses, I would assume that Glimmer would be able to rewrite the constitution to merge the relevant principalities of her kingdom.

Part of me wished that the 2011 ThunderCats series could be folded into this if only because I thought that show deserved a second chance and the techno fantasy stuff could mesh.

I barely remember the show. I do recall absolutely loving the first two episodes, and that it created a lot of hype because it presented an interesting take on the older cartoon where the sides were more morally ambiguous, and had some strong characterization for the main cast right out the gate. Then I remember the show almost immediately jumping in to more stand alone episodes that were pretty rote, and getting increasingly bored over the course of the first season. To the point where I'm pretty sure I never watched beyond the two part mid-season episodes establishing the origin of the Sword of Omens through Lion-O's ancestor, along with the Mumra etc, because it annoyed me that it framed the entire thing by having Lion-O's spirit inhabit his ancestor and bumble about without any idea of what he was doing for the vast majority of the episodes and not giving us any real insight in to his ancestor when so much of those episodes revolved around the guy.

I do remember enjoying one or two of the following episodes. There was one involving the transience of life involving some flower people or something? That's about the extent of my memories of it though. Was there some homosexual characters in it, to say you brought it up in reference to talk about couples? The only relationships that I even remember were Lion-O and Tygra competing for Cheetara's attention, and her not even being that bothered about it because she had some priest or spy thing she was concentrating on as a servant to the former kingdom or something?

Man that show tanked fast. The pilot created so much hype, and I remember reading stories about how the entire season was planned out like one long movie etc. and then the actual season came and went with a wet fart.

Thats the most important part of being a princess tho. The gemstones the link to the magic and enables the ruthless magocracy to continue its oppression of horses.

It seems like the gemstones have very specific powers and you don't get the powers if you aren't connected to the gemstone. Thus Scorpia not having lightning powers for most of her life. Presumably the kid would just choose what gemstone they wanted to attune to and would have either plant powers or lightning.

I’m still a little mad Scorpia’s gemstone power was “red lighting.”

Every other princess gets a power on theme with their name/hobby, yet Scorpia gets stuck with a completely generic power that has nothing to do with scorpions.

Like it doesn’t ruin the show for me but I wish she’d gotten like, an extendo-tail or something instead.

Hell, they could have at least made the lightning shoot out of her tail!

yea I was hoping her thing would be, like, super strength or something since I know 'the power of scorpion' is a bit niche even in She-Ra logic but she is buff and tough as hell so it woulda been neat if her powers made her go full on Hulk.

And Entrapta is colorless like Karn. I don't ever recall her using magic ever. She just builds stuff.

plus it sounds like the fright zone is old enough that they just have people who've lived there for their lives anyway, all those ex soldiers would probably like to stay in their home. Just rebuild it less oppressively evil looking and give them more food than ration bars and they'll be perfectly normal citizens.

Scorpia takes all the lands of the red desert and fright zone into her kingdom. The horde's remnants prove to make an outstanding royal army and had already practically annexed the red desert anyhow. Perfuma helps establish crops in the otherwise hostile lands. Now she has the most powerful suite of powers AND the most capable army of all the princesses and will definitely win the civil war now that the brightmoon rebellion is no longer a thing. Flawless horde victory.

Karn is colorless because he's also an artifact. 90% of the creatures that make artifacts are U/x. Emily would be a colorless artifact. Darla would be a colorless artifact vehicle. Entrapta would be mono-U. (You could also argue Izzet based on how bug gently caress random she is with her experiments.)

And no loving way Shadow Weaver is Rakdos. She doesn't do sadism or physical torture. She's the big plans, manipulate from behind the scenes, power-at-any-cost type.

Yeah, Scorpia is already one of the two physically strongest characters in the show alongside She-Ra. She doesn't need magic for that. Earth powers might work well for 'scorpion lady from a desert', though.
