Fifteen of Many posted:Halo MCC: I had heard when it first rolled out PC that there were some issues with Reach and since have heard generalities about it being buggy as 1/2 came out. Anyone have a feel for the current state of the game if you're primarily interested in playing the campaigns in coop? My friend and I had minor bugs and a bit of lag in Reach that would come and go, though I don't know how much of that was server issues or not. We're in the middle of 2 right now, theres a lot more lag and we got disconnected once and had to restart a level. They're not long games though, so if you're interested you might just get it on game pass since thats cheap. Press tab in 1&2 to check out what the old graphics and sounds were like. Even during cutscenes!

Mechanically they are all still pretty hosed! 1 is the least hosed, then Reach, then 2. Of course, because PC gaming is what it is you might not run into any of these bugs! You might have a totally fine co-op experience through all three games, like a couple of my friends did. Meanwhile another friend and I couldn't get past the second section of the second mission since Reach came out! In summary I can't honestly recommend dropping the $40 sight unseen. You could do it through GamePass where it's only each $1 for you both for your first month but even then it might still be boned.

As long as Saints Row 3 has the music licensing intact it'll be still be aces, especially the use of Hybrid's album I Choose Noise as the majority of the cutscenes' soundtrack.

so Hunt Showdown is pretty cool but also sucks balls because we keep getting oneshot (through walls sometimes) by players that almost always have hundreds of monster and player kills and multiple maxed hunters, and now after like a dozen matches we ranked high enough that our Hunters Die In Real Life when we lose which would mean anything if we weren't getting dumpstered constantly so they never level up anyways

She entered the Dungeons of Dredmor as either a massive fortune to pay for therapy or death were the only options to wipe out the memory of The Crystal Skull. e: hahaha, same thing happened again with a score of 8532. Reminds me of my dumbest Nethack death. I blinded myself because I had ESP and wanted to fight one of those annoying monsters that stun you with their gaze. Got jumped by something else and tried to retreat with low health and there was a closed door in the way. Tried kicking it open, but targeted the wall instead. "Died by kicking a wall" was on my headstone, iirc…

I only have 63 games on Steam. I started way back with Half-Life 2 and Portal, but since moved to console gaming for a couple of generations and only got a PC again just over a year ago. I've missed out on nearly a couple of decades of Steam madness.

New Dawn was pretty fun imho. The story is still a whole bunch of whatever but unlike FC5 it's not intrusively bad and for the most part the gameplay gets right down to the fun things about a Far Cry game. There's also a second act twist that was genuinely cool. Extremely disposable entertainment, but you could do a lot worse.

Just curious, I'm replaying the first Prototype on pc and while the movement powers feel good and tight, I find the combat and certain mechanics somewhat annoying and I have an itch for something better. Time for me to enthuse about Lego DC Supervillains again! Seriously if you don't mind the aesthetic (and I love it) it's a great superhero game. Especially if you love speedsters. The sensation of going fast is so good. There are cars in the game but I've no idea why you'd use one instead of just being the Flash.

There's a seven years old Gamasutra comment by their audio guy who says that they spent $450,000 on SR3's music licenses. I wonder how those deals translate to remasters.

SR4 kind of annoys me because it takes the movement straight out of prototype but with a worse map for it, and trades Prototypes cool powers for a bunch of lame ones like “a gravity gun, kind of” and “I guess you can burn or freeze people”. Nothing like imitating a soldier to pin the blame on some random mook and getting his buddies to light him up, or turning a dude into a tendril bomb.
