The fact I have box turtles as pets is not helping because the males tend to bite the female's on the legs if they close up their shells, and if they actually do mate, the male's back claws dig into her legs, sometimes to the point of blood, while she closes her shell on his feet, so they end up locked together for a while. Maybe this is why baby turtles look like evil loving old men when they are born, they already know the future in store for them.

I have two terrapin turtles (semi-aquatic). I once thought that one of them bit the other and tore some of his organs out. Turns out I was just witnessing a prison rape I accidentally orchestrated. :geno:
