You were so scary at night.

lol, she deleted it so it must have been sincere. It was a 20-something girl describing her daily routine and it played out exactly like the scene in American Psycho where Patrick Bateman tells you about his routine. She also seemed similarly cold and dead inside. It was pretty creepy.

I legitimately thought it was an unironic take on the American Psycho scene that kind of peters out at the end, but it being deleted brings it to a whole new level.

Yeah, I watched that and thought "How can this not be this girl deliberately recreating that scene?". It's loving beat for beat.

The Boondock Saints has horribly boring action scenes, the worst possible Tarantino knockoff writing, and just exudes the douchebag vibes you'd expect from a Boston bartender writing his version of Death Wish. I can't imagine considering Boondock Saints "fine" if you've seen Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, or Jackie Brown.

I liked it when I first saw it because I'd already seen everything Tarantino had made at that point and was desperate for more. It's the film equivalent of methadone to Tarantino's heroin.

It's not beat for beat, but it was very much how I'd expect a version of American Psycho remake set in 2020 to be. It's way faster and doesn't go into any details.

Well you could call Guy Ritchie a Tarantino imitator himself. He didn't start making movies until 1998, after Tarantino had burst on the scene with Pulp Fiction and then Jackie Brown in 1997. There were a lot of people doing their own spin on Tarantino during those years.

Watching this insane maniac’s three+ hour review of the Final Fantasy 7 remake, he talks about the way in which the cutscene of the train pulling into the station seamlessly transitions into gameplay is an emblematic moment for game history. I never considered that, but I do agree, and it is neat to think of in continuation with Lumiére’s “Train Pulling Into a Station.”

Started working on an outline for a slasher screenplay in my head/in my notes app. I’m trying to follow the lead of John Wick in taking a well-known genre, and making the platonic ideal version of it while still being subversive, it’s difficult. It would need to have practical special effects though.

They aren't ranked higher than Unforgiven if it's at #110. But Taare Zameen Par is ranked higher than a handful of the others at #138.
