How's yall framerate? I didn't run any monitoring programs but it was definitely not smooth during the tutorial mission.

I'm totally smooth in missions but lag a bit in the lobby especially when I just loaded into it. Kind of expected as much day of launch though, lots of folks in it. Turning down the max number of detailed models rendered helped a lot though.

Game seems to run/work fine. Little hitching in the ship lobby but that's probably server side lag. Protip: Click "environment setting" on the launcher and set it to fullscreen before you start, it defaulted to a 720p window for me and you can't change it in-game Referral code if anyone wants to use it: 10483168 Another mag question: Is it viable to have one character play every class like FF14 without buying extra mags, or am I gonna have to use the extra free character slots for different archetypes?

For some reason the lobby runs much worse than it did for me in the JP version but otherwise everything is working okay for me so far.

Anyone know where the character data from the benchmark/character creator is stored? My install of the game can't seem to find it, probably because it's on a different hard drive.

Maybe its just because there are so many people playing right now, but I am on an RTX 2070 and my frame rate sucks. I never had these issues with the Japanese version.

Between the installer needing multiple installs to update the game that then gets partially blocked by antivirus programs and every resolution setting being random nonsense I'm starting to think this game was made seven or eight years ago or something

Since I only played for a couple months right near when the original english patch was released I decided to for one of the "new" classes for my US char. New is in heavy quotes because I picked Braver, the oldest class not part of the original six, but hey, y'know. I just wanted to be a robot with a katana. I know supposedly Braver works best by focusing one weapon over the other, but is a balanced build TOO far behind? I figure for Mag I can just straight dump into Dex since it seems like it benefits both weapons. Not that I ended up doing a whole lot of katana-ing so far since I got sidetracked by dumb casino minigames like I do in every JRPG that has them. In regards to framerate, it's absolutely perfect within missions regardless of what's going on, but it tanks to slideshow levels hanging out in the lobby. That's probably to be expected due to first day shakes, just giving my impressions of it.

You will eventually get enough points at high levels to spec both weapons but you'll wanna pick one to start off with rather than try to go back and forth. Also pure dex is the way to go yes. Bouncer can also use a dex mag and eventually phantom when they come out.

Eh, realistically even at high levels Braver can't really take all of its kit - you can't afford both stances, Katana Combat and Rapid Shooting even at 95 with all the SP COs done.

Question - Does each character I create have a different name (like most MMOs) or will they all have the same overall account name (like Destiny)? Also is there any reason to install this on SSD or will it not matter much? The premium + scratch tickets + inventory expansions are more than $60 individually however, not even including the extras. Everyone who has worked through weird MS Store issues and is playing, the next time you login go to:  Change your player ID. By default, all IDs are PN######### to be unique but that also mean if you apply to the group, you show up as PN19284719284371 and not your character's name. It will also keep you from going "hey everyone" as PN958715501 like we all definitely did at one point or another this year. First change is free but you have to pay to change it so maybe treat it like a virtual tattoo.

Do you get new weapon actions from the skill vendor? I equipped some dualies but they only have two abilities attached.

Meanwhile, I think my game just went and uninstalled itself. The only other games I've seen do that are Anthem and Fallout 76, which isn't the best sign. Guess I'll just....download it again and pray it works this time? Do ships fill up and block you from making a character there like in FFXIV?

One ship has 60 or so blocks, you’re kinda safe since it’s not one of the big games. Edit: also around a third of PC users can’t actually play thanks to shoddy programming.

What do I want to feed my Mag if I'm going Fighter? It looks feeding it weapons increases S-Attack? and is this a good way to allocate my skill points?? (I just kinda tried googling a build.)

After a little bit of time on the PC version over Xbox, game is much better on this platform despite the optimization issues. For one, I can actually see and make out the UI. Glad I go back and forth between the two platforms though.

Christ, is there a good video or guide on the equipment system in this game? I can't tell if I'm equipping items or if the items I'm finding are basically like moves. The gameplay is actually surprisingly fun, I'm digging Bouncer and basically juggling everything all the time.

The real money stuff is *region locked* unlike the game itself so you need a way to add currency for USD. Probably with digital currency cards through online sellers.

Weapons are listed in your inventory under the tab that looks like a sword, and your abilities are weapon-specific and learned by eating the green DVDs that drop from monsters. You have at your disposal a list of hotbars ("weapon palletes") that you can switch between easily to change weapons. On each one you first pick the weapon you want to create a setup for, and then have space to assign a number of relevant weapon abilities.
