Is there some kind of AutoHotKey to grind your mag while you sleep or anything?

I'm able to make slow but steady MGP from Gold Saucer by hitting up it's weekly/daily stuff.

Meanwhile in the the ARK Casino I have to listen to "WE'RE PRACTICALLY GIVING MONEY AWAY" over and over as Rappy slots trolls me endlessly. It certainly seems like a more authentic casino experience though.

would any kind vet be able to link me to good jet boots Bo/Hu skill tree build and/or playing guide? im level 35 and figure i should probably put some skill point in while shits still easy. as far as gameplay im especially confused by switch strike and when i should be using that...

e: my friends and i keep getting sucked into lengthy bouts of mesetan shooter instead of actually doing missions, also i spent like half my money buying new roboto legs. i assume i am playing the game properly.

Believe it or not, even Rappy Slots is tuned to have a consistent long term payout. It just sucks. Play blackjack instead.

I could believe that. I feel like I was at the slots for an hour and kinda just treaded water. Also it seems like there might be a daily luck factor? I skimmed the client order thing for the drink machine, but it seems like the drink machines tell you your luck? Or are they just magic 8 balls and spit out random stuff each time?

I tried the meseta shooter but had no idea what was going on / what I was doing wrong. The other slot machine seemed potentially lucrative but boy I don't like games where you can lose it all.

Arkuma slots can be done in a more cautious way, it's pretty easy to break even or gain a little bit without even too much randomness getting in the way. It also feels like the only way in the casino to IMMEDIATELY get a massive payout... If you're lucky enough.

I ignored the casino for my first couple of days then went in yesterday, cashed in all of my coin tickets to 1900 cc, then grinded up to 10k for the Jet Boots Camo. Blackjack definitely felt like the best payout over time, plus you get to hang out with other people playing anime blackjack.

Mesetan shooter is fun, it's basically a shooting game combined with plinko from The Price is Right. You have to move your turret with A and D to catch coins and power ups, and avoid catching bombs. Don't shoot Mr. Umbra (was that his name?) the weird huge guy. He drops bombs. (Don't hit him if you see him during an Urgent Quest either, he gives you stuff if you just let him hit you.)

Rappy slots is really cute but trying to grind 5 gold rappies AND hit a wild after takes forever. I got extremely bored trying to grind that out. The other slot game is also frustratingly slow. It can give you a huge payout or you can lose it all in a 50/50 guess. I didn't bother with roulette.

Overall I'm happy I got the Jet Boots Camo. It has a cool special effect where coins spill out of everything you hit (unfortunately it doesn't actually give you more coins). I'll probably grind out more of the weapon camos over time because I enjoy hanging out and playing blackjack.

So, quick question. Every Bouncer Jet Boots guide I've seen says to use switch strike so that your attacks scale off of S-Atk instead of T-Atk. Is there a reason for this? It seems like you'd be able to do just as much by not taking that skill and just focusing entirely on T-Atk.

I'm assuming the answer probably has to do with the skills you gain from subclasses, but still. I'm curious.

If you're interested in Rangers, this seems to be the best resource I've found: https://somethingaboutlagging.wordpress.com/

Seems like it's mostly updated for the NA release. It's not super well organized, but you'll get a good idea of how to proceed.

Be careful though, as it uses some of the JP terminology in places. I was briefly confused by one of the skill names that changed and accidentally spent 7 points wrong. I'll have to fix that later if a respec drops or is issued.

This is for equipment optimization across both Bouncer weapons and other classes. Like if you build S-Atk on all your augments and do an S-Atk MAG you can play Hunter/Fighter/Katana Braver with that set of equipment alongside both jet boots and soaring blades Bouncer if you take that skill. But the reverse isn't true, if you focus entirely on T-Atk there's no option to convert that into S-Atk for your soaring blades (or gunblade). And since Bouncer doesn't have that many abilities to boost raw casting there's not much lost there.

For Jet Boots, I've seen a lot of guides that say that Jetsweep Kick's weapon action kick is a big part of Bouncer's damage. But because you have to dump your focus gauge and lose your elemental charge to do so, does that mean that when you start the rotation you ignore reapplying the element? Because that seems to take a lot of time and it seems like I'd be better off by just keeping the focus gauge full and using my other abilities.

Mostly depends on what kind of mag you want and if you want to keep Dual Blades as an option.

Uh... Kupo?

So how do weapons work?

Like is the damage calculation for a sword [(S-ATK) + (STR) + (Elemental bonus)] * PA multiplier? Should I be focusing on stacking DEX for a braver?

e: Actually I checked a wiki and it has a pretty straight-forward guide for calculating damage. I still don't know how DEX factors into damage. Does it add to S-ATK/R-ATK by some value or completely replace it?

You get a skill (Braver mag, in Bravers case, it also stacks with Phantom's version) that adds your Dex into other the attack stats basically.

I believe the way it works is that your DEX is compared to the enemy's DEX and it influences your critical hit rate. Critical hits in PSO2 eliminate damage variance and give you the max roll of damage possible, so it is not a good idea to stack DEX on your character's stats itself. Braver (and Bouncer) have a passive that converts DEX on their MAG only into the relevant attack stats for their class.

Braver (and Bouncer) have a passive that converts DEX on their MAG only into the relevant attack stats for their class.
also, if you're using a 7* or higher rarity weapon, you get a hidden buff that reduces damage variance to a fraction or something. There are a few weapon series that do not have this buff though (Red, Invade (unavailable until the end boss of episode 3 gets it's urgent quest), Val (unavailable until episode 5 content), any weapon that has been Extended through the crafting system which is not available on NA yet)

also pets get a massive dex penalty to make up for the pet itself giving you a 2nd character's worth of dex.

so aside from that, Dex is just, a largely unreliable defensive stat at best. You only want a dex mag if you're rolling braver main, bouncer main, or later using phantom as a subclass. Event then, you can get away with using a Mel or Rng mag on braver if you really don't care about using the other weapon type just yet, and bouncer has a skill that makes Jet Boot PAs scale off of Mel instead of Tec; and boots typically only use techs to change element.

As for critical hits, most class combos can typically grant a large amount of critical hit chance, and can be supplemented by a skill ring like R/Critical Strike, or once the next solo extreme quest is released, R/Effort Symbol [Class name]. While critical hits aren't much to write home about unless you're Fighter or Gunner main; they'll eventually add a system that lets you stack on some critical damage boosts to your weapon itself, so that'll make crit rate more attractive at least.

Hyper Inferno
Jun 11, 2015
The best thing about critical hits is that they're very nice round numbers and it's very satisfying to see a big damage number capped off with -00 at the end.

So if I'm rolling Braver hybrid, having a DEX mag is the best option because Braver adds my DEX stat to both S-ATK and R-ATK when I'm using Katana and Bow, respectively.

Dope.

$10 to get all the other MAGs on one character isn't a big deal, for a free game I've already played like 40 hours.

I've been trying Jetsweep at full focus and it certainly does like 15k damage, but if I do just a normal Grand Wave goku kick it does something like 5 or 6 hits for 2000 each. I'm not actually sure if Jetsweep is more sustained DPS than just spamming normal attack with weapon actions tossed in.

I did kill a boss with a fully focused Jetsweep kick to his taint, which felt right.

Finally getting around to trying out NA since life has been something else and I still have a million other games I'm distracted by. Decided to start of Gunner this time around and it just feels right to flip around all over the place shooting poo poo. I still miss the supreme satisfaction that comes from Braver katana counters but I'll manage.

Does NA already have most of the skill rings around? Because I definitely want the forward roll ring for Gunner.

For the record, braver does not add your entire dex stat to your attack, only your mag's dex stat. Dex has no use outside of that other as a(n unreliable) defensive stat.

I've done more research on this and it seems this is more applicable to the JPN servers. The main guide I've been referencing (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eFdIE3fB9OgPwWU4ocDO2o8TjDUr_gLkLNweV5vVMP8/edit) does not distinguish between NA and JPN differences and that's a big part of it. Namely, JPN servers have an upgraded version of the kick that makes it fire about 40% faster, and it doesn't drain your element when you do it which means you only need to build the focus gauge back up without bothering to weave in another elemental cast.
