I once saw a clip on TV about something called Skullbone. It is apparently a form of barekunckle boxing where you’re only allowed to hit above the shoulders. I might have dreamt it.

No idea about the Skullbone stuff though lol E: there is a weird boxing club called "Skullbonia" (or the kingdom of skullbonia or whatever), based in Skullbone, TN... Okay completely random memory that just popped up: Crown Casino Melbourne Australia used to have a gaming bar called Bar Code and the cinemas (Villiage?) used to run the occasional big screen ad for it. I'm looking for the mid to late 90s Bar Code ad that had someone on a turntable make a noise that went 'bow-bwwwwwoooooow, bow-bwwwwwooooow' for all of two seconds. I just want to hear that part again for memories sake.

Ok, this is obscure. The screen id/trailer for a Hong Kong based cinema advertising company of the 70's or 80's, all I can tell you was it was animated, mostly orange and had seagulls/some sort of large white bird in it.

I can find plenty of animated Golden Harvest logos featuring amber waves of grain, but it's hard to find ones for Orange Sky pre-merger... HappyKitty posted:The weird thing is that they were featured as background music in the show Clone High at one point. It's utterly maddening to me that this band seemingly disappeared off the face of the planet, and the most enduring legacy they've left is a few bars of background music on a handful of episodes of a one-season cult TV show. I have literally never met a single person who recognizes this band when I talk about them. Googling them displays a BUNCH of false positives, because apparently "Big Sur" is a popular band name. Mostly I want to know whether they ever released any further albums, because I would buy the poo poo out of them. Oh man, this reminds me of one: I can't remember if it was in an ep or a promo, but there was a cartoon around the Clone High era that had a segment where one character was like, "duh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh. Duh uh nuh nuh nuh nuh. Duh uh nuh nuh nuh nuh," and then another says, "SHUT UP." The first character then makes like a "beooow," guitar noise. I had always thought this was from Clone High, and so did my middle brother. My brothers and I have repeated this segment to each other s million times in the last 15ish years. I re-watched the show a while back to find the ep it's from and it's not there. Where the gently caress did this come from?

there was an Awful Link of the Day to a site called something along the lines of "MARTIAN COCK-BOXING" featuring incredibly detailed B&W drawings of Warhammer 40K lookin dudes in crazy armor with high heels and (i remember this detail specifically) prominent codpieces joined by a thin chain. Basically it was a site where a dude would upload is writings/drawings about the future where people fought and hosed through weird combat rituals and everything was powered by jizz. I'm trying to find Laments puzzle box. I know they custom make them in Florida somewhere, but they're like 400 bucks with questionable payment/delivery options. I want the one that works, not just a wooden cube with paint on it. I scoured shops when I was in downtown LA. Couldn't find one. All they had were stupid Oscar statues.

A short story that I read in the 90s. From what I can remember it involves some new machine that people step into where they are allowed to eat as much and whatever they want and the machine "magically" takes all the pounds away. I think it turns out to be an alien machine that was put on earth so they can harvest all the collected fat to use as energy or food or whatever. I've posted about this in the book barn years ago and never got a response.

There is a prototype version of the game floating around that somehow manages to be even more creepy.

It's a song. Amazing, I love it. Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxHcfwidfq4 It's called "St. Lucia - Elevate (Jeremy Olander Remix)" There's people on SoulSeek who have the 320kbps unreleased real version of the song, but they will only trade it for other unreleased songs. I'd give my left nut for this song. If any of you all got this, you'd be hero material.

I figured these would be impossible, but I've seen some crazy things answered in this thread so I figured I'd give it a try. I used to DJ in the 2000-2003 using analogue records and so on before the whole digital thing took off. There are two records/tracks that I used to spin quite regularly that I can't for the life of me find on youtube/remember. These may or may not be mainstream, I wasn't really plugged into the charts scene at the time, mostly picking records because I liked the art or other reasons. The first one: Progressive trance with the classic build/break pattern, almost cheesily so. What sticks out is a voice sample repeated somewhat often, a sonorous male voice saying "COMM ONE" (Calm One?) that gets echoed/stepped on over and over. There was a minimalist break of fuzzed piano in the quiet part DUN DUN... DUN DUN... DUN DUN DUN (phat bwaaaaaaa noise) COMM ONE, comparable to Tiesto Flight 643 synth but more isolated and fuzzy. Had a plain black sleeve so I've got nothing on that front. The second one: Harder trance that sampled the original Akira soundtrack; not the movie itself necessarily. Had a persisting female vocal that cut in and out a bit like FSOL Papua New Guinea. The female vocal cut was almost used like a choral synth to bring about the climax of the build/break, with again fuzzed bass/piano probably closer to sandstorm/zombie nation (the songs are not similar, the synths used I mean). This was my "go to" peak record that I'd build up to when everyone's drugs were going off. The sleeve was interesting, I remember it being mostly white, with complex blue line art. I want to say it may have been an aerial view of neo tokyo, but I seem to remember it being denser and more detailed than that. I wanna say the word "astro" was involved, though looking at Astrofonik's catalog they don't have anything before 2006, which this definitely would have been. Same with DJ Astroboy. Note: This was not Sunbeam "Outside World".
