ShoogaSlim posted:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DeVLtxQ9UY Love this song but the sound on youtube is so weird, the treble is way low and it really takes away the crispness of the cymbals&hihats and makes the cool guitar parts less prominent. I was worried that was the way they mixed it but then I clicked on the Failsafe video and it sounds the same (way different from the record) so must be youtube loving with the sound maybe?

not sure which platform has the best audio version, but i jammed it a handful of times on spotify and it doesn't sound much different. i'm a little nervous about the overall sound quality on the finished product

Vocals sound like new-old misery signals and not like old-old misery signals, so my expectations have been a little thrown. I've also never listened to Jesse outside of their first record so he could have developed this sound a while ago..? Either way they make killer compositions and I'm still thoroughly hyped.

I'm a couple weeks behind on this one, but Sharptooth released a new one off their upcoming album (which I'm pretty stoked for) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgSo1sHsCIw edit: Travis Orbin recorded the drums for the album, which alone is enough to get me hype XIII fucked around with this message at 22:40 on May 28, 2020 |

For some reason I got Ritalin Twins stuck in my head and went to see if Everything Hurts was back up on Spotify and it is...without Happy or Hillary's Step or Ritalin Twins which are 3/4 of the tracks on the album I really liked. Music rights is such a fuckshow.

Hey, fellow bad-tastes-in-music friends! In light of recent events, I wanna put together a playlist of Songs To Be Angry To to share with some friends who aren't normally into heavy music, but are mad about poo poo going on. Even though I'd say most of the scenes' politics lean left, -core music tends to be Very White Male, so I'd like to try and show them the more diverse side of heavy music (or at least the bands/tracks that try to empathize). Suggestions?

A couple that immediately jump to mind: Silent Planet - No Place To Breathe (check the footnotes in the lyrics as well) Hail The Sun - Human Target Practice And gently caress it, Denzel Curry's cover of RATM - Bulls on Parade

BAND DRAMA The Ghost Inside posted an announcement on Twitter/IG today parting ways with their basist: https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/the-ghost-inside-parts-ways-with-bassist-jim-riley-following-racial-slur-allegations/ It turns out in 2015 he used the n-word about the band's bus driver on their tour. The bus driver (Rashad) immediately called him out on Twitter at that time, and it doesn't seem like it was ever addressed by the band. When TGI announced a sale of t-shirts with proceeds to be given to NAACP, Rashad immediately called them out about selling that shirt for the cause but never addressing their own issues. I guess firing him was the band trying to damage control but... fuckin yikes. I see no way they just didn't know for 5 years. They wanted it to go away and thought it had, and are now sorry they got called out. I like their music a lot. This is a bummer.
