HydroSphere: Since we're getting close to the end of the chapter, what's your plan for this LP considering the rest of Chapter 3 Part 1 still hasn't been finished?

My preference would be to move onto Your Time to Shine, but I can see why people would prefer 3-1A, so I'll take a vote after this chapter.

I don’t plan to play YTTS myself, it’s not a genre I care about, so I personally definitely wouldn’t mind seeing it LPed.

It's a spin-off alt-reality scenario. Everyone is intended to be a playable character, but right now it's just Mishima. It's apparently chock full of backstory for characters who otherwise uh... died

If I recall, Chapter 3, Part One Section B is not too far away from release, so I think it would be best to do Your Time To Shine between 31B and 32, as that is likely to be a much longer wait.

"Kanna did the fifth trade...! She... won't hide the truth anymore...”

"Kan... na...!!”

(Kanna... did it... She really did it... to protect me...)

"This's just... the worst outcome...!!”

"Such foolishness...!!”

"..........”

"...Shut up...”

"Since there was no other way for Kanna to survive...”

"I...!”

Music stops.

"Please, wait!!”

(...?)

"...?”

"With the fifth trade, Kanna switched her card and Sara's card.”

Extract statement from Kanna.

"Once she knew escape wasn't possible anymore... She had no idea what to do...”

"Then she looked at the phone...”

"Seeing her sister's words calmed her heart.”

"This whole time... Kanna had just kept betraying... "Her sister... the others... Sara...”

"She just had a feeling that Sou had sent the Sacrifice to Sara...”

"Kanna... doesn't get the complicated trade talk... She can't even reason out who gave who what...”

"Even so... she was certain of just one thing...”

(Kanna...)

"Kanna... Kanna...!!”

"She didn't want to let Sara die...!!”

"And also...!!”

"...!!”

"That seemed more painful than her own death...”

"Kan... na...”

"But...”

"What...?!”

"What's goin' on here, Kanna?!”

"Kanna doesn't understand either!!”

"She's sure she traded cards with Sara... But it wasn't the Sacrifice!!”

(Unthinkable! What is Kanna saying?!)

"It's all true...! Please believe me!!”

(At any rate, we just have to talk! About Kanna's statement...!!)

"I can't believe bucket girl, woof! She's lying to try and confuse us, meow!!”

Well... Maybe Kanna just messed up who she was trading with or somethin'?!”

"It was machine error! Maybe the tablet broke and the trade went wrong?!”

"Don't tell me... I wonder if Sou hacked the role cards themselves...?!”

(I don't know what to believe...!!)

"I can't see through to the truth in their hearts right now...”

"So we might just have to find the objective truth.”

(The truth...)

Extract statement from Alice.

"It was machine error! Maybe the tablet broke and the trade went wrong?!”

“This is the truth! The truth can be very simple!”

Extract statement from Nao.

"Don't tell me... I wonder if Sou hacked the role cards themselves...?!”

“This might be an absurd opinion, but...”

“Sou was spending his remaining time messing with the laptop in the Winner's Room, right?!”

“I wonder, did he hack the card data then?!”

(Is that even possible...?!)

“Because... I mean...!”

(Someone who could cause an irregularity...?)

Extract statement from Gin.

"I can't believe bucket girl, woof! She's lying to try and confuse us, meow!!”

“She's been betraying us over and over, meow...”

“She's even less trustworthy than the loner, woof! Don't trust bucket girl, big sis Sara!”

Extract statement from Sou.

“.........”

(Sou is hardly saying anything... I can't read his thoughts!)

Extract statement from Q-taro.

Well... Maybe Kanna just messed up who she was trading with or somethin'?!”

“I dunno how the Ring-Up Boxes work, but...”

“If you're just sayin' names into the receiver, there could be mistakes!”

“And yet my Sacrifice definitely moved!”

“Urk...! If it ain't Kanna's mistake, then...”

“Gashu... changed the trade...?”

“Wasn't Miley talkin' about some transgression of Gashu's jus' before the Main Game?!”

(…!!)

Extract statement from Keiji.

“Some unique situation that caused the role to just disappear? Is that possible, I wonder...”

“Maybe the influence of Sou's hacking extended to the role data or something...”

“Some nice evidence would make that a whole lot more convincing... Too bad.”

Conflict Nao against Q-taro.

Music stops.

"There was a possibility... Something separate from Sou's hacking... And an irregularity that definitely occurred...!”

"Eh...?!”

"Excuse MEEEEeeeeEEEE?!”

"Remember what Miley said before the Main Game.”

"And despite being such a huge transgression... It hasn't shown itself at all thus far!”

"...”

"And now... this illogical movement of the cards that's tormenting us... Could this very issue be Gashu's transgression?!”

"If we believe Kanna... That's the only explanation!!”

"So Uncle Crabstache manipulated the movement of the cards, meow?!”

"But for the Floor Master... what would be the merit of doing that?!”

"There was some sort of merit...! And that's why Gashu pushed us through the argument!”

"I see... If his goal could be made clear, maybe we'd know...”

"Who he moved the Sacrifice to, that is.”

Music stops.

"Gashu... If you haven't engaged in any misconduct... then promise us.”

"Hm...?”

"I know the Floor Master's code...”

"...!”

"Hahahahaha...”

"You just know everything, don't you? As to be expected from Ms. Sara Chidouin...!”

"Hwoooooooooohhh...!! You for real?!”

"He said it!! With 24 hours, we could even reattempt our escape!!”

"...But are you certain?”

"If you cannot prove it, you will only be losing time to spend on other reasoning...”

Music stops.

(It's okay. This new possibility we've spun... This theory... wasn't being directed at Gashu!!)

"...!!”

"The other possibility... is that you did some sort of hacking to the role cards, Sou. If we know whether that claim is true or not we can fight! Let's all combine forces to win an extension!!”

"..........”

"Kanna...”

"Y... Yes...?”

"...”

"It's okay... Kanna really doesn't have the Sacrifice

"...I see...”

"...I...”

"I didn't do any hacking to them!!”

"Sou...!!”

"That's the truth, Miss Sara... No lies, no tricks.”

"Alright...? Let's quit deceiving each other.”

"Just what I wanted to hear!!”

(This is a turning point in our destiny...!)

(Together... we'll expose Gashu's misdeed!!)

"Perhaps he sent the Sacrifice toward someone who he wanted to kill...”

"Or else, you think there was somebody who Gashu didn't want to die?!”

"Is there an answer in the clues we have left...?!”

"There's a fundamental issue... Maybe the Sacrifice wasn't actually sent to anybody?”

Extract statement from Alice.

"Perhaps he sent the Sacrifice toward someone who he wanted to kill...”

“Think about it... Gashu has plenty of reason to hold a grudge toward him”

“By formulating an escape plan... he trampled on his honour as a Floor Master!”

“You're talking about...!”

“Sou Hiyoriiiiiiiii!!”

“...!!”

Extract statement from Sou.

“Gashu had something to gain from tampering with the trade...!”

“It's out there, but... Maybe in reality, Gashu's an ally.”

“Like he wanted this to be exposed, so he could put a stop to the Main Game... Is that... too unthinkable?”

Extract statement from Q-taro.

"Or else, you think there was somebody who Gashu didn't want to die?!”

“"The person with the Sacrifice is real likely to die... That's why Gashu meddled!"

"Like "I don't want them to die, so I'll move the Sacrifice to somebody else!”

“Who's “them” here...?”

“That's obvious! The person who'd normally end up having the Sacrifice...!”

“Kanna!!”

(…!!)

Extract statement from Keiji.

"There's a fundamental issue... Maybe the Sacrifice wasn't actually sent to anybody?”

“So Gashu's transgression was making the Sacrifice vanish..”

“Seems unthinkable, sure... But it's just one possibility.”

Extract statement from Kanna.

"Is there an answer in the clues we have left...?!”

“Out of all the evidence we've seen so far, is there anything related to this transgression?!”

“No... None of the evidence...”

“That's what I thought... We've discussed all of the evidence already..”

“Unless there's some new evidence that hasn't come up in discussion. I don't see any leads...”

(Some yet unused evidence...)

Show Four Papers to Kanna.

Music stops.

“...? It looks kind of familiar...”

"That's just like the torn-up paper I found on the first floor, meow!!”

(Though... What use could this have?)

(Eh...?)

(Internal documents?!)

"Gashu! Just what is this roster?!”

"...!”

"Hahaha... What indeed...”

(Urk! He caught on to the fact I don't know what this means...)

"...You did good, Sara.”

"Huh...?”

"Whatever could you mean...”

(What meaning could these papers have...? I can't even guess! But...)

"There's value in solving this mystery...!!”

"We ain't got time!! Let's thoroughly talk out anything suspicious about this roster!!”

"There are four bound sheets... And four names on each sheet!”

"'Sides our names, there's a buncha names I've never even heard...!”

"Huh...? This roster doesn't seem to be sorted by name.”

"A roster...? It's reminding me of something, meow...”

"If you want to look closer at the roster, tell Mr. Policeman and we'll look at it together.”

Extract statement from Nao.

"Huh...? This roster doesn't seem to be sorted by name.”

“Look at this...! The names are sorted by percentage!”

“Aaah, how creepy... What sort of ratio are these numbers supposed to represent...?”

(These numbers are clearly out of place... Might they hold the key to solving this?)

Extract statement from Gin.

"A roster...? It's reminding me of something, meow...”

“Roster... roster...”

“Ahh!! I remember it, meow!!”

“The bar on the first floor, woof! There was a list of names on the blackboard, meow!!”

“Now that you mention it, that was a roster too... But I couldn't possibly recall everyone's name...”

“I memorised it, meow!!”

“Huh?!”

“Err...”

“That's amazing, Gin!!”

“Easier than learning the prefectures of Japan, meow!”

(This is important information...!)

“Ehehe... Was I useful, meow?”

Extract statement from Kanna.

"There are four bound sheets... And four names on each sheet!”

“Who would have made this roster, I wonder...”

“Probably Miley... It's what Gashu's reaction seemed to indicate, too.”

“Um... Is there no followup to these sheets?”

“Followup...? No, there wasn't anything else...”

“I-Is that so... Sorry.”

Extract statement from Q-taro.

"'Sides our names, there's a buncha names I've never even heard...!”

"Were these people who died in the First Trial before they could meet us?!”

"That might be it...”

"How many people these kidnappers gotta kill 'til they're satisfied?!”

"...Nah, now's not the time to get emotional...”

Extract statement from Sou.

“Hold on a sec... There are participants whose names aren't on this, huh?”

“...What are you trying to say?”

(Four of us...?)

Conflict Gin against Sou.

Music stops.

"Sou... What did you just say?”

"Huh? That there are four people's names missing...”

"...Meow? Kai, Sou, Kugie, Joe, and Nao aren't listed, so...”

"Huh? That's five, woof.”

"...!”

"Sara, this ain't the time to be poking at little mistakes like that, awright?!”

"No... That mistake wasn't just a trivial issue. Why did Sou get it wrong? That's what's important.”

"Gashu, tell us how many participants were dragged into the Death Game.”

"...That would be 20.”

"There are 16 listed on the roster.”

"If we add an unlisted 5... Doesn't that come to 21 people?!”

Music stops.

"One too many?!”

“Well then, let's compare the names on the paper roster with those on the blackboard...!”

"First, the five not listed on the roster are Kai, Sou, Kugie, Joe, and Nao

"Shin Tsukimi...? That's the only person not on the blackboard, meow!!”

Music stops.

(We've derived a 21st person...!)

"What's going ooooon?! Just who is this person...?!”

(Is it one of us...? Okay, let's calm down... What does that mean, exactly?)

(...An alias? If someone is using an alias...!)

"I see... Shin Tsukimi... is one of us...!!”

  • There was some chalk found by that blackboard; it was briefly hypothesised in 1-2 that Reko used it to change the names when it was considered that Reko and Alice could be the same person.

"No way...?!”

"Aha...”

"Interesting... If we follow that logic...”

"Shin Tsukimi... has already been identified.”

"What'd you saaaaaay?!”

"Sara, let's work this out.”

(...Let's just suppress my urge to say that.)

"It's one of the people not on the paper roster. Kai, Sou, Kugie, Joe, or Nao...!!”

"Right you are.”

"Awright... Let's discuss those five's names!!”

"This is my real name!! Professor Mishima called me “Miss Nao," remember?”

"I'm using my real name too. It was written there at the Prize Exchange, right?”

"Kugie... is the name of Kanna's sister...!”

"If big bro Joe was using a fake name, big sis Sara would figure out right away, meow!”

"Kai's name was on his laptop. Based on the email logs, should be his real one!”

"If you want to check the roster, come tell Mr. Policeman anytime.”

Extract statement from Nao.

"This is my real name!! Professor Mishima called me “Miss Nao," remember?”

“Please believe me! Saraaaa!!”

(I do really doubt it's an alias...)

Extract statement from Gin.

"If big bro Joe was using a fake name, big sis Sara would figure out right away, meow!”

“Big sis Sara! Is big bro Joe his real name, woof?”

“Of course it is.”

“Good, meow!”

Extract statement from Q-taro.

"Kai's name was on his laptop. Based on the email logs, should be his real one!”

“Ain't even a trace of him bein' called another name!”

Extract statement from Kanna.

"Kugie... is the name of Kanna's sister...!”

“...It's a real name, of course. I would never forget my precious sister's name...”

Extract statement from Sou.

Check Keiji.

Music stops.

"Oh... Just impressed by how calmly he could lie.”

"...Lie...?”

"Sara, recall the Prize Exchange.”

(Huh...?)

"Remember?" There were photos, but no names anywhere.”

"Ahh... was that right...? I must've had it wrong.”

"Sou... What exactly...”

"Are you afraid of...?”

"..........”

(Afraid? Sou is...?)

"No...”

Music stops.

  • Card trades:

After Kanna confesses to taking the Sacrifice.

(It can't be... Kanna swapped my Sacrifice with her Commoner so she could sacrifice herself... Kanna is prepared for death... That's why she isn't even hiding being the Sacrifice... I didn't want this... Not at all...)

(Keiji confessed to being the Keymaster, and Q-taro the Sage. Sou fell for their trap and said he was a Commoner, but the possibility of that being an act emerged. Yet... It's already evident that Kanna's fifth trade moved my Sacrifice to Kanna...)

After Kanna reveals she received a Commoner card from the trade.

(Kanna... tried to sacrifice herself by swapping my Sacrifice and her Commoner. But Kanna says she received a Commoner card... Is it true? Or a lie? Or... something else...?)

After Sou agrees to work with everyone to work out the transgression.

(The Commoner that Q-taro started with apparently got changed to the Sacrifice. At the time, I was with Keiji in the 1F kitchen, listening to Miley and someone else talk. In the end, I don't know who initiated this trade... But right now, I'll trust everyone.)

(Time-wise... It happened when we were sharing the laptop. It was Sou who sent me Q-taro's Sacrifice. Even still, I'll believe in Sou...!!)

(Kanna... tried to sacrifice herself by swapping my Sacrifice and her Commoner. But Kanna received a Commoner card. I believe Kanna...! This oddity must be Gashu's transgression!!)

(Keiji confessed to being the Keymaster, and Q-taro the Sage. Kanna also confessed she's a Commoner. Where did the Sacrifice disappear to...?!)

Nao is missing from the list, If you take the list of participants as the people meant to be in the game, and the 4 people who weren't as extra's, then the transgression is clear. Sara's sacrifice was diverted to Nao. Kanna and Sara are meant to be in the game, where Nao isn't, therefore, killing her would get rid of the last 'foreign element'.

...There is a sacrifice. It's just not Kanna.

The facts

1. Kanna attempted to trade the Sacrifice to herself.
2. Kanna received the Commoner card instead.
3. There have been 9 votes so there is a Sacrifice.
4. The original participants of the Death Game were 16, not 20.
5. Nao is not meant to be in the Death Game.
6. Gashu in some way violated the rules of the Death Game.
7. Reko doesn't get a vote and cannot be traded to, because if she could, don't you think that Sou would have traded the Sacrifice to Reko who's dead in the first place?
8. Sou isn't Sou, he's Shin Tsukimi
9. The actual Sou Hiyori is dead, he was murdered by Alice.

That's basically the proof for me that we're missing a sheet. It'd have exactly four people, and these sheets are by numerical order - there's nothing saying that the four names we know should be there but aren't, aren't just at 0% themselves. After all, the names left are Kugie, Joe, Nao and Kai. Joe and Kai died early on and together at that, Kugie didn't even get to the first main game. All of them are very likely 0%, with Nao as the only exception, and even there she may have stayed alive this time entirely thanks to Mishima.

I'm not sure this is cut-and-dried since Gashu (and Sou?) has apparently messed with the constraints of the game, so there is uncertainty about what is and is not possible with votes, roles, and trading (at least for the last trade).

Something still seems off about the "Someone broke their tablet, a replacement one has been made available, make sure that only the person who broke their tablet takes it". I mean, they're supposed to be encoded, so they would have to know who broke their tablet, so why not just say "Q-Taro, here's a replacement tablet. Sorry about the inconveniece". I'm suspecting that's when Gashou did his game fuckery. Q-Taro hasn't actually LOOKED at his new tablet yet, has he?

Sou literally said he didn't mess with the Role cards, and the thread is waiting for that secret triple reverse bluff where secretly he's done something. But if he'd done something he wouldn't be so desperate to get Kanna votes based on the thought that she was the Sacrifice. Sou's an rear end in a top hat but everything he's done in this main game has been consistent with the thought of keeping Kanna alive, and not even as a pawn, since if she WAS the Sacrifice, the game would conclude if she recieved the majority vote.

The focus right now is what did Gashu do to transgress on the game. Everyone knows if they can solve this, they have another shot at escaping. So there's no reason for anyone to hide anything.

If Gashu is intending to run the experiment, there's no point in removing the Sacrifice from play, especially not when clarifying the rules at the start that as there is an even number of players, a tie between the Sacrifice and the Keymaster would lead to a party wipe. He would simply have let the sacrifice's role be quiet, not only that, but if there was no sacrifice it would be a clear transgression of the rules, rather than an unclear one.

Finally, Reko is not a participant anymore, even if she was counted, which she wouldn't she died way before the game began, the game adjusts if people die, remember, if you don't go to the main game, you are immediately killed. So even if Reko was in play somehow, she'd be discounted for not being present. Sou has no reason to direct all the votes towards Kanna and try to make her seem like dead weight that needs removal if he isn't convinced she has the Sacrifice. Especially as if she didn't, she formed a voting bloc along side him that kept him alive in the game.

Again, let us look at what we know, logically.

Miley gave us the 4 papers, the list of names.
At Prize Exchange, Nao was the only person without an AI, she only had a dossier written for her.
Nao is also absent from the papers.
We know that Kai wasn't intended to be in the game, and Joe was with us on happenstance, so again, a very good chance he was never meant to be here.
Especially considering

"This's our last chance!!”

"Let's think like mad about anything connected to this transgression!!”

"We'll all think about it and win, meow!! No slacking, loner!!”

"Yeah! I know!!”

"Let's trust that the truth of this transgression... lies beyond that answer.”

"This is your final discussion... Use it meaningfully.”

"Got it? This roster lists the chances of survival for the participants in the Death Game!”

"You said they determined these chances of victory by running simulations with AIs, right...?”

"Is there something about these sheets we're still overlooking...?!”

"Indeed, the most unusual aspect is the fact there are only 16 names here...!”

"If "Sou" was an alias... That means there's actually 4 not listed, right?!”

"Kai, Kugie, Joe, and Nao are the four not on the roster, meow!”

Extract statement from Alice.

"Indeed, the most unusual aspect is the fact there are only 16 names here...!”

“Shin Tsukimi there stated that this roster shows rather accurate chances of victory...”

“But what about the chances for the four who aren't listed?!”

  • Alice raises a good point here; the simulation data can't be as accurate as claimed. Not only are there people in the game who weren't present in the simulations, but with it taking three years to update an AI's personality, there's also the possibility that the AI differs from the person - we know Reko's personality changed and Sara noted that Keiji's AI seemed a bit different.

As for the reason they're not listed, I don't want to think it, but...”

“Perhaps those four are dolls or something...?!”

(Dolls...?)

Extract statement from Nao.

"You said they determined these chances of victory by running simulations with AIs, right...?”

“Our AI selves must have killed each other again and again for this data! And been reset...!”

“Could that Monitor Room have been the place they did the test runs?!”

(True... No reason they would have needed to assemble in that room.)

“Come to think of it... I heard there was something unique about the AIs in the Monitor Room.”

(All the candidates...)

Extract statement from Gin.

"Kai, Kugie, Joe, and Nao" are the four not on the roster, meow!”

“Since we learned the loner's real name, there's no question it's these four, woof!”

“But... I dunno what they have in common, meow.”

“There's a mix of living people... not-living people... and someone we never met, woof...

(There must be something in common...)

Extract statement from Sou.

"Got it? This roster lists the chances of survival for the participants in the Death Game!”

“Even I wasn't told any more details than that!”

“Can you recall anything else at all?!”

“Urgh... well... ummm...”

“..........”

“...Ah...”

“What is it?!”

“Well... not that there's any difference between “participants” and “candidates”, is there?”

“If there's a chance the kidnappers were using those terms distinctly, then maybe...”

(Participants and candidates...)

Extract statement from Q-taro.

"If "Sou" was an alias... That means there's actually 4 not listed, right?!”

“Can't think of any common points 'tween those four... But...”

“Maybe we can figure out somethin' in common between the 16 who are on the roster?!”

(What these 16 have in common...)

Extract statement from Kanna.

"Is there something about these sheets we're still overlooking...?!”

“We've established the chances of victory and everyone's real names, but...”

“For instance... we haven't touched on them yet, so maybe there's something odd about the occupations!”

(The occupations...)

“Sou... wasn't a job-hopper, then...”

Conflict Nao against Sou.

Music stops.

(Hang on... What's this about candidates...? Are participants and candidates... really the same?)

(And with that in mind...)

(What if... There's someone among us who doesn't have the right to victory... a non-candidate?)

(That's why he tampered with the Sacrifice!!)

(I should know it now... Who here... is not a candidate...!!)

They really needed to make her reaction to being voted into the final selection not identical to Joe's. Hopefully this scans :confuoot:

This game isn't finished yet, but I've been operating under the assumption that this is the "good" ending.

Yes! You see, one night it turned out the moon had been STOLEN!

The animal people asked ME to take its place as I am so WISE and BRILLIANT!!
I'm thinking that part of getting the good ending will hinge on how often that Sara (the player) votes for Sou Shin during the Main Games. Too many votes for Shin, perhaps a majority of Sara's/your votes, locks out the good ending.

I assume that the correct anti-system choice at this point would be for everyone to put their lives on the line and vote Sacrifice. That the floor masters have let this game go on despite the 'transgression' must mean it doesn't necessarily matter. If the gang reasons out the identity of the sacrifice to avoid them then it's business as usual, but if they figure out the identity of the Sacrifice because of the transgression and then voted for them because it would be a middle finger to the floor master who set them up to die, I imagine that would close the circuit and encourage postponement.

Of course the game could pull some arbitrary nonsense like the poison dart thing but it'd be cool to see some real guts :black101:

No Boots on the Ground,
Puny Mortals!

That opening shot of Sou has been hanging over the whole game for me, and I gotta say, having it be his "shadow of despair" is a really satisfying explanation.

"Even Shin Tsukimi, with his 0% chance to actually win, is listed! But, Nao... Out of us survivors, your name is the only one missing!!”

"No... There didn't exist a Nao AI to begin with!!”

"...!!”

"And so Gashu tried to kill you! He sent the Sacrifice, with its high risk of death, to Nao!”

Music stops.

"This was your transgression, Gashu!!”

"...”

"...Ahaha...”

"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...”

"Fantastic!! Simply fantastic!!”

"Well done, Ms. Sara!! Such overwhelming mindpower! Such imagination!! And all of your cooperation!! Your unity!!”

"You solved it!! You solved Gashu's shoddy quiz!!”

(..........)

(It's... over...)

Our long, long discussion... And at the end, we earned it.

"I'm sorry, everyone...”

"I kept quiet about the Sacrifice the whole time...”

"Thinking about what would happen if we couldn't do it... I just couldn't say it!!”

"It's not your fault, Nao. All the fault... lies with Gashu!!”

"...”

"I will say but one thing...”

"Eh...?!”

...Last?”

"Ms. Sara Chidouin...”

"...You have overlooked something important about the Floor Master's code.”

"About the code...?”

"It is written clearly...”

"And I promised you that" I would fulfill my duty as per the code.”

  • It's a little hard to tell with his moustache, but Gashu was smiling as he pulled the trigger.

"Foolish!! Suicide...?!”

"No... Nooo...!!”

"This is impossible!! It should be over...!! Why... why this...?!”

"Ahh... ahhhhh...”

(Why?! For just a day's extension, we hung on stubbornly and put our lives on the line! And yet... Gashu casually threw away his life!! He easily... shot down our hope!! Who could be capable of such a thing?! He's a demon...!!)

"Safalin...! Please!! It's an emergency, right?! Suspend the Main Game...!!”

"I can't do that... I can only act as a substitute.”

"N... No... You're really going to continue?!”

"This isn't right...! This isn't right at all!!”

"I'm begging you! It doesn't have to be 24 hours... At least let us retry...!!”

"I'm sorry...”

"I'll do anything!! I'll do anything... so please...!”

"Ahh... hh...!!”

"Oooogh... aaaaahhhhh...!!”

(Nao...)

Nao... is the Sacrifice. No one will vote for her.

(And... We need to choose, too...)

Music stops.

"..........”

"I guess... it's clear who you'll vote for...”

"...Ooh... oogh... oooh...”

Extract statement from Keiji.

“Nao's the Sacrifice... I'm the Keymaster... We can only vote for Sou or Kanna...”

“........”

Extract statement from Nao.

"...Ooh... oogh... oooh...”

“Please... someone... save me...”

Extract statement from Sou.

"I guess... it's clear who you'll vote for...”

“...I'm tired...”

Extract statement from Kanna.

"..........”

“Everyone... um...”

Conflict Kanna against Sou.

"Huh...?”

"Wh... what are you...”

"Please... vote for Kanna.”

"What're you sayin'?! Kanna!!”

“...!!”

(Kan... na...)

"Please... This is about the only thing Kanna can do...”

"...”

"In exchange...”

Music stops.

"..........”

...Why can't I say anything? Kanna's throwing her life away to protect Sou... Am I just going to watch in silence...?

"...Kanna...!”

"S... Sou...”

"Self-sacrifice...?! That's worthless!!”

"You really are a kid, Kanna...”

"...My feelings won't change.”

"Be quiet, Kanna...!!”

"Guys!! We have our conclusion!! Hurry up and vote!!”

(Sou...!!)

"Kanna doesn't have any wisdom, and can't even hack...!”

"I told you to shut up, Kanna...!!”

"Please, remember the first Main Game!”

"For our survival, we didn't choose by "feelings," but "logic"!!”

"But wasn't that a mistake?!”

"Real failure... is wavering!”

"Not trusting your beliefs is weakness!!”

"...Stop... it...”

Music stops.

"...It's time to vote. I cannot wait any longer...”

"...”

"...Got it.”

"Mr. Policeman...”

  • I may very well be wrong, but some of Keiji's actions and words in 2-2 seem to have something of an interesting implication.

"Keiji!!”

“...Thank you very much.”

"This ain't a joke!! I'm ashamed of you, Keiji!!”

"Sacrificin' a kid for the sake of adults... That's a demonic choice you just can't make!!”

“...........”

“Alice... You chose Kanna, right?!”

“...........”

  • Reko votes for Sou as well.

"I... I...”

"D... Dumbass!! If you don't choose me, I'll use you next and get you killed!!”

"Urghhh...”

  • Sara can't standby and let Gin suffer.

"You don't have to take responsibility, Gin.”

"Big sis Sara...”

"If you vote for Kanna... it'll be tied 3 to 3.”

"B-But then... big sis Sara, your vote will...”

"It's okay, Gin. I'll take responsibility...!”

"...!!”

Music stops.

(Now... it's just me... My vote will decide everything... It'll... decide it all...!!)

"Nao...?”

"Do you remember the conditions for the Sacrifice to win...?”

“...?!”

"Now, Sou has 3 votes... Kanna has 3 votes...”

"If you vote for me, that's 3 votes for everyone...! I can win by a tie for first

"Say what?!”

"Let's return home together, Sara...”

"..........”

"Big sis Sara!! You won't do that, right...?!”

  • For this vote, please choose between Kanna or Sou/Shin. While I'll be showing the immediate aftermath of all three outcomes of the vote (even though it looks like he's an option, the game won't let you vote for Keiji), this decision will also affect Chapter 3. Just to be clear; everyone is being truthful about their votes - the person that the thread selects will get the majority vote.

Can't post for 11 years!
Voting for Nao seems like an early/bad ending of sorts...

But honestly, with Sou-wait, no, Shin kind of redeeming himself... Hmm...

But Kanna's... Ahhh...

...I'll wait for some other people to make convincing arguments first.

Shin. He has a low likelihood of winning in the first place, but more importantly, he clearly doesn't want to survive at Kanna's expense. I don't know what he'd do in revenge, given all he's done so far, and Sara doesn't need an enemy like that. Kanna seems less likely to be able to retaliate in anger.

Plus Kanna doesn't deserve any of this. :colbert:

On my honor as the Dawnspear.
I'm going for Kanna.

Sou's a poo poo and will almost certainly stay a poo poo, but he can be helpful and attempting to redeem himself through death is a bit cheap.

On a side note though, are we able to actually vote for Nao in game?

Vote for Shin.

Kanna is stronger than she realises, especially after pulling a play like this. Even on terms of saving the most helpful, that is still going to be her.
And it seems cruel to Shin to make him live with sacrificing a child for his sake.

This could be the most one-sided fight since 1973 when Ali faced an eighty-foot tall mechanical Joe Frazier. My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think the entire Earth was destroyed.

I think we should vote for Kanna. As horrible as it is, she already has a crippling case of survivor’s guilt. At this stage I think it would be a fate crueler than death for her to have to live through it again.

Hello yes I heard there was a lovely trainwreck here and...

For as much an rear end in a top hat as he's been, and how much I've disliked his way of playing, and how terrible this choice is, Kanna is right. Shin is useful, and he can work together with people and be worth trusting (only after pushing the right buttons, but that's the same boat Q-Taro is in), and he's also driven the hell out of the Main Games so far by playing designated antagonist. Kanna doesn't really have that same level of motivated autonomy for anything other than dying with a purpose, and... as much as this hurts, this is as good a one as any to keep everyone else going. Voting Kanna.

e: I'm changing my vote, because Shin is wanting to die to save Kanna. During the game with Kai, he made the appeal to vote for the Sage because it was the logical choice, because it was safe, and people went with it. Now he's invested at least in Kanna; he's making the emotional appeal that he should die because he's the bad guy, because people hated him. If Kanna dies, all the care he had for trying to help everyone escape this place will probably die with her, whereas she'll still be open to sacrificing herself if nobody finds a way to escape before ending up in the next Main Game. Voting Shin.
