The final Med School release is out (Med School Graduation) and it's got a bunch of great tracks on it. This one in particular is really pretty:

It's got all the Med School favorites on it too: S.P.Y, Etherwood, Whiney, Lakeway, BOP, Frederic Robinson, etc.

Holy poo poo, that is extremely my jam. I've got a friend who was teaching fitness classes before quarantine, and we've been doing Core de Force over Zoom. She's not a junglist, though, so she wasn't really into the MC's style...ah well. I've been thinking that it'd be easy to make tunes for CdF, because it's a bunch of 4 minute rounds with clear transitions at every minute, and the BPM fits.

Local institution Church Sundays is teaming up with Stamina DNB on the West coast to bring back Sunday night DNB. This Sunday May 3rd we're launching a six-loving-hour livestream starting at 4PM EDT (1PM PDT) and keeping it going every Sunday. It's unclear to me currently whether that's going to be video, but we have been talking about synchronizing our video streams so probably.

just saw a thing on facebook, for the 10 year of Audio "Genesis Device" they are doing four remixes. Can't find anything on what tunes or who all the remixers are but the one dropping 22MAY is Black Sun Empire. I'm pretty jazzed, gang.

Crosspost from the DJ Mix Thread; my set from last Sunday's CHURCH X STAMINA stream. I took video of it and was stressing for the past few hours about some YouTube copyright claims that say "video cannot be seen or monetized." But... You guys can see and hear this, can't you?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I5itrVwHwM

Anyway, if it's visible then that's grand - I had a blast putting this set together on the fly. Enjoy watching me get drenched in sweat in real time as I forgot to turn on my AC before rolling the tunes.

EDIT: There is a couple of minutes of dead air at 14:43. I shouldn't have panicked and agreed to 'Mute Song' under the 'Select Action' tab when I saw "Video cannot be seen or monetized" next to that tune... You live, you learn. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts if I'd done nothing, the tune would never have muted.

Xenology is an unnatural mixture of science fiction and formal logic. At its core is a flawed assumption...

that an alien race would be psychologically human.

So I tried to get into DnB and jungle back in like 2012 (listening to current stuff) and it never spoke to me, and this channel that posts mainly 94-96 era stuff popped up in my suggesteds and I am absolutely blown away by the soulfulness and thoughtfulness. gently caress

I was on the CHURCH X STAMINA stream again last Sunday. I always start with some liquid D&B but this time I made an effort to move to heavier stuff sooner in the set, as I worry people get bored of the smooth stuff and think that's all I spin. Here's the video.

I gently caress with this. Pendulum are often a 'guilty pleasure' of mine, but then there are times like this when there's no guilt about it whatsoever. They absolutely have their own 'lane' and I think they do more than stay in it; every few years someone else starts aping their style hard (currently I'm thinking of DC Breaks and Metrik) and Rob has to come out and say "stay out of our lane."

Yeah Metrik's Automatika definitely was heavily influenced by Pendulum.

Still I like Metrik's production even if Automatika sounds heavily inspired by Pendulum. I still think his best album is Universal Language. Not sure Rob can say much when he's been loving around with Knife Party for ten years. After all I'd say Pendulums influence can be seen throughout drum and bass these days and Metrik and DC breaks certainly aren't the only ones to ape their sound. Still excited for new pendulum and I feel the first single certainly slaps and hopefully they can put together another album.
