I don't mean to be all hipster but I have kind of been waiting for the whole Daniel Kinahan-MTK story to break big in boxing circles since the hotel weigh-in shooting as well as when Katie Taylor's dad got shot. Top Rank, and by extension ESPN, are in pretty deep with the whole MTK apparatus so I'll be interested to see what happens on that end as well-most importantly-how it affects those actually in Ireland. And it's not just Tyson Fury, also Billy Joe Saunders and Michael Conlan are represented by MTK.

Has a promoter or coach ever come out of retirement to fight a protege? I bet Michael Moorer could still threaten (in the ring I mean) a lot of folks, he keeps in shape and his role in the foreman mythological epic hides the fact that he was a really tough scrapper at light heavyweight, I think he had a rep in kronk's gym?

Actual quality aside the "joke" about Wanheng is that he was able to amass a record fighting basically stiffs in Thailand in a very shallow division to begin with. The closest thing to a legit contender at his weightclass was the wonderfully named Knockout CP Freshmart and they never fought though I think remember seeing that they are friends which is part of the reason
