I have weird memories of it constantly playing on some TVs in a shop I used to spend a ton of time in. I don't think I worked there though.... it's starting to feel more like a nightmare than a memory.

One of many instances of that throughout the movie, I'm sure.

I still enjoyed the scenes with Christopher Lee as the dentist father of Willy Wonka. I guess Jay and Mike haven't read the Roald Dahl novel: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Ironically the Tim Burton film is much more faithful to the original source material, including some of the lyrics in the novel employed in the songs. Funnily enough, the changes in the original film were invariably for the better.

Jay talked about going on a Roald Dahl kick in 5th grade. Mike couldnt be bothered to read a children's book that one of his favorite movies is based on as a part of his job.

I also loved Jay's comparison between Apocalypse Now and Willy Wonka in that both had an animal slaughtered on screen.

Funny, Willy Wonka is also one of my favourite movies I've seen so many times I know nearly every line. Admittedly it was one of the few VHS tapes I had growing up, but still, genuine enjoyment.
