I mean I get why it’s the case, but I’d really like to see some more realistic and less fantastical works about queer stuff too. It’s nice to read manga about pretty happy people with loving families, but I also want to see people like myself - you know, complete embarrassing disasters. This is a decent example of the above, I really liked this one.

I have to note, though, that the manga in question is Giniro no Genders, for which "blazing tire fire" is an apt description. Like, not because of the characters or anything, the manga itself is absolutely terrible.

I haven't caught up on it in a while, but I remember it started to rub me the wrong way a little when the summary pages at the start of each chapter invited readers to play guessing games about what flavour of queer each of the characters was. It felt touristy, for lack of a better word.
