Sometimes, especially for IUD users, something gets through and you end up with a nasty pelvic infection. Don't forget that our overall understanding of AFAB and intersex genitals and bits and bops is way behind typical AMAB boots and bonts. The reason is sexism and the fact that doctors love loving up a baby's genitals for dumb cis parents who suck. The history of intersex "interventions" is an important reminder to never trust institutions, especially medical ones.
