I use Wiztree to see where all my storage is going? But I think the bloat is usually in like C:/program files/windowsapps/mutablebackup or something.

I like WinDirStat for my file locating purposes. Is taking ownership of the install folder actually a good idea? In my experience, doing that to anything other than your basic Windows directory is a one way ticket to everything breaking. I know its usually the first trouble shooting tip that comes up, but I distrust the advice on a deep level.

If this has happened to you then your hard drive is already hosed so you may as well take control and do what Microsoft can't and fix it yourself. The thing to trigger my hard drive meltdown was my internet randomly disconnecting for a minute which brought up a store window that wouldn't load so I force closed it and apparently that was enough to nuke everything into 300gb of hidden files as I struggled to get things working again not knowing about the powershell shenanigans that came out. I feel for anyone who doesn't know whats going on like little timmy or grandpa internet who just wanted to play their anime space game. These people exist and are doomed to reformat if they even know how to do that. Fat and Useless fucked around with this message at 12:33 on Jun 20, 2020 |

i'm relatively Good At Computer and even i had a hell of a time fixing my broken install after the first patch, the average user is basically hosed. i'm not sure if MS just heavily prioritized the xbone version to the point of completely neglecting PC, if the Windows Store really is that awful, if some weird internal politics happened, or some combo of all 3. if this was a paid new release, people would be extremely pissed. MS is lucky this game is old and relatively niche in appeal, and even then it got a little article in Forbes. unfortunately it's still really fun so i'm stuck here

I think I got around needing to take ownership of the folder by opening up the mutablebackup directory within 7zip and deleting it inside there, and doing so hasn't caused any problems This is also an aside but I'd look into Wiztree sometime, it's the exact same thing as WinDirStat but scanning takes a fraction of the time

So I'm wrapping up the Episode 3 story and the Photoners really suck. For the story of Episodes 1-3 in general, has the extent of the PC's time traveling kind of been lost? Like, with the matter boards and story missions, you were able to travel back to certain important times and eventually take different paths/make different choices (I'm not missing having to replay missions until X point). The new story mode only has the second routes aside from saving Zeno. Which is a shame since that's a pretty big clue about Persona.

restarted on Ship 2, cause Ship 3 is basically empty already, and have been playing as a Gunner. is my basic game plan just get right up in poo poo's faces, blast away, and do a lot of backflips? it seems to work so far, but i feel like i'm missing something. also had really bad luck with Disc drops so far, probably has something to do with it.

I only figured that out much later when I couldn't figure out why my SSD was overfull.

Here are my recommended photon arts: Grim Barrage - It's cheap on the PP, closes gaps quickly, and beats running any day of the week. True Equilibrium - Gunners are generally at their best at close-range, but this is still a wonderful PA for when you need some distance, but still want to do some damage. Chronolapse - Once you unlock chain trigger, this PA is likely to be your main finisher. Get all up in the enemy's weakpoints and evaporate them with slow-mo matrix bullets. Desperado Dance - A nice AOE attack that destroy crowds of weak enemies. However, you're vulnerable for pretty much the entirety of it. Gunslinger Spin is a good alternative. Satellite Aim - All around solid PA for any situation. Also, stay in the air as often as possible, and craft the ring that allows you do to forward flips.

When you go to the quest counter and select a mission, you can view a log of everything that has dropped for a period of time. The last page generally has discs but you can usually buy them on the market for pretty cheap if you don't wanna grind for a drop. In Franca's Cafe, hit up the ring vendor to see what gathering materials you need to craft the S Roll Front ring. It lets you use stylish roll to go forward instead of only backward and to the sides.

I haven't been following the story very much, but the episode 2 quest "Day of Resurrection" got me interested. It's really cool how the emergency quest objective is "eliminate (player character)" and the UI marker is stuck on your character for the first bit of the mission where all the other NPCs are trying to kill you.

I highly suggest skipping the in-game story scenes entirely and just watching the anime: https://www.funimation.com/shows/phantasy-star-online-2-episode-oracle/ it's a decent anime in its own right and an overwhelmingly better way to experience the story.

The anime is legitimately good, especially with what they're working with. I've watched the anime first before playing in the in game story and basically everything done in the anime is handled in the lamest way possible in the game.

most mid-tier anime is only japanese voice acting? and reading garbled rear end subtitles suuuuuuuuuuuuucks. plus it aired in 2016, even if MS and Sega had worked out the translation and publishing deal, it was way before the "mainstream" NA audience would care. e: to clarify, i mean mid-tier in terms of budget, marketing, and studio push, not quality. lots of garbage gets all star voice casts. well look at that i'm dumb and don't know poo poo. kinda speaks to the "mid-tier" descriptor though. if it's that recent it might get dub money from Funimation when voice studios start back up, they're definitely more into that than most publishers.

You're referring to PSO2 The Animation. Which is different from Episode Oracle. Episode Oracle only aired a few months ago. It's on Hulu with full subtitles. I usually watch a couple episodes every day while knocking out my Arkuma slots for the day. And honestly, I usually prefer dubs too but just get over yourself and read subtitles. I would bet that this will never get dubbed. 90%+ of anime never gets dubbed.

i'm not sure if you're referring to me or the guy who asked if the subtitles were a "not quite there translation" but i prefer subtitles in literally all media if possible and just get really pissy when they're half assed or bad. Netflix anime is horrible for it. is there like a general strategy/flowchart/whatever i should be using at the Casino? i've barely touched it but gleaned from this thread it's less gambling and more timed payouts, or at least some games.

You'll miss out on star gems and titles for not S-Ranking them on Hardcore. Summoner basically trivializes most of the missions though since the enemies don't scale to your pet and if they're trying to fight your pink dog they aren't hitting you.

It's just great when they suddenly spawn in a bunch of ranged enemies, or better yet suddenly lock you in a room filled with exploding barrels. My weapons are good enough to chew through anything that isn't a boss in a hit or two, but all the chip damage adds up. I did somehow manage to S rank the 2.5 hour long mission in Episode 2 though, which is good because no way in hell did I want to run that a 2nd time.

Yikes, that's annoying. I've been getting loads of Star Gems from going through the story for the most part, so I think I'll just go ahead and take the L if I don't manage an S rank going forward here.

A quick tip for people who want to make meseta today or generally when affix bonuses are active. If you're not sure what to hoard, a generally safe bet are units with 3+ slots with melee/ranged/tech iii. These sell for a pretty decent amount and aren't too uncommon to just randomly pick up when farming content of any difficulty.
