Following wrestling this last week and then learning on Saturday that a guy I thought was my friend is apparently a massive sex pest has basically destroyed me mentally. I don't think I can follow this thread any more

Oh to be sure there are a LOT of underlying problems in wrestling that I think explain just how many of these stories there are. The whole culture of locker rooms and the hierarchies that form and all the petty bullshit and machismo- it's a culture that really enables bad behavior like this. Obviously the abusers are responsible for their own actions, but more people need to start acting like adults and recognizing what the boundaries are.

I am not sure why I am still following this myself, other than to reach some point where I decide that it is enough and I cut out wrestling all together or vainly hoping that a level of justice occurs to match the level of accusations.

The thing about Keith being sexually assaulted that makes it hit even harder is that he's been publicly just kicking himself over not having been able to help or protect abuse victims in the locker room. To hear that he himself is a victim is just a kick to the gut.

It's a second/third hand account about Sammy harassing/menacing a waitress in a parking lot 7-8 years ago, but not a lot of details, and nobody saying "this happened to me and its hosed up", we don't know what the circumstances were or even if it was Sammy. i don't know, that's kinda why i feel like for (your own personal) sanity's sake you have to have some bar to get over into "credible allegation", and to me it's a victim themselves speaking up or someone posting w/evidence. like on Darby before, i was able to give him the benefit of the doubt, now the victim has spoken up and Darby can get hosed and hit the bricks all of this poo poo is so messy and gross, idk

drat. That Keith Lee story hit home. I had a night a few years ago where I met up with some people I met through meetup at a concert. The last thing I distinctly remember is a guy in a new group buying me a beer. From there it's just two very short memories of singing with a complete stranger and being in the parking lot. I woke up in my own bed and nothing seemed out of whack, but I have no idea how that night actually ended. I didn't think slipping something into someone's drink actually happened to guys. According to the website, the Wrestle Factory trainers are: Quack Hallowicked Fire Ant (probably not anymore) Travis Huckabee Sonny Defarg Not listed but I know he teaches classes: Ophidian I REALLY hope Dasher and Hallowicked aren't apart of these stories. That would be loving even more terrible.

Back in 2005, it was probably just Quack and Reckless Youth. In 2005 they moved from Allentown to Philly and merged with the CZW school. At that point Skayde and Chris Hero were added as trainers too.

I was wondering if some more Quack stories were going to pop up. Every story of Quack I've seen prior to this paints him as a narcissistic, control freak. Him basically controlling wrestlers coming up through The Wrestle Factory and their gimmicks/bookings, issues with JoshiMania, that time he freaked out on Twitter because a barista at Starbucks messed up his order twice, and of course, CHIKARA's shutdown. I think the trainee bullying stories are relatively recent (within the last 10 years anyways) and then if that's the case through a friend, The Wrestle Factory toxic culture has existed just about right from the start. I want to say CHIKARA's only hope of staying open depends on how much of it Quack actually owns nowadays and if anyone else has any percentage of CHIKARA. Them surviving the original shutdown makes me think they're one of these companies that can't die, but obviously this is a lot heavier. With Quack, Icarus, Juan, Kobald, Rory Gulak, Kevin Condron?, and maybe another obvious one I'm forgetting, they seem to be in the same boat as PROGRESS where they need to do some serious cleaning and a potential rebrand to survive. Though I feel like some of the wrestlers would do well leaving the company and being allowed to do what they want.
