Tars Tarkas posted:The seats in the theaters are probably nice and clean, but it is the air in the theater especially with a bunch of rando patrons who are chowing down on dry popcorn just waiting to cough everywhere that is the big nope as a movie theater employee, I'll set this straight: if the seats are leather, you're gonna be fine, especially immediately after reopening. Theaters are gonna have extra hands on deck to be cleaning constantly. My boss told me we'd probably have 2-3 people on theater duty (when we'd normally have 1, 2 on very busy nights) armed with lots of sanitizer, plus an extra person cleaning just the bathrooms. They're super paranoid because people (rightfully) assume that theaters are gonna be a place where people could very easily transmit. If the seats are cloth, you might not be so lucky, it's harder to clean them. you're not wrong about the air though, that's something theaters can't really control. They'll all be forcing people to wear masks (especially after AMC tried to say they wouldn't and everyone yelled at them, and I dont' know about everyone else, but I'm gonna be a huge rear end in a top hat to anyone who thinks they can get in without a mask. There's not really a way to enforce wearing them in the theaters themselves though. I wouldn't recommend you go see movies in theaters at least through this year, possibly longer depending on how long this pandemic lasts. I'm not optimistic.

That is something that it's a little surprising doesn't already exist. The Gotrek and Felix books were really fun and lend themselves to adaptation, being mostly a fairly normal dude seeing the weirdness of the Warhammer world, which is basically lord of the rings but rewritten by a sugared up teenager.

Henry Cavill should play Commissar Gaunt or Cain in a 40k movie. Cain has a lot of personality so I think Cavill could shine and they're both giant melee fightlords and he'd get to use a chainsaw sword. Putting him as the Emperor or a space marine or something would be a waste since they tend to skew towards bland. Emperor would just be him as Superman again but now with pauldrons.

You all remember the 1985 movie D.A.R.Y.L., the movie about the robotic boy named D.A.R.Y.L. that my fondest memories of are having a babysitter whose brother was named Darryl so he was excited about the film and seeing an ad for it in one of the early issues of The Transformers comics. No idea if I ever saw it. I asked this before, but why didn't they sue the Enola Holmes book's author and publisher 14 years ago? They're clearly in it for the money. There's also the implication that any derivative work of fiction not approved by the original creator can be released without their permission as long as you change some fundamental thing about it. Like that Nazi alt universe My Little Pony.

The best thing would be a Sherlock Holmes movie where the beginning is Sherlock Holmes starting his day then he goes and meets some old friend who also solves mysteries for coffee then the rest of the movie is a mystery story starring that old friend because the script was originally entirely about that unrelated character and then it just had the beginning scenes welded on. We never see Sherlock Holmes again for the rest of the movie. Though it's heavily marketed as a Sherlock Holmes movie a new Sherlock Holmes adventure and it's even called "Sherlock Holmes: something something"

And Dabney Coleman wasn't even in D.A.R.Y.L, he was in Cloak & Dagger, the movie about an Atari cartridge full of espionage material.
