I'm looking for the man who shot my paw.

i think one of my favorite parts of titanfall actually is when you're outside the mech shooting at guys and when tehyre dead their helmet pops off 10 feet in the air, so you know theyre ded and not faking it

i remember thinking it was ok, the part with the weird leather nuns was pretty dumb iirc

but then i tried the new gen hitman and it was way better, so

good for free i guess

hitman absolution is the low point of the series. it's not terrible, it has a few good moments but overall it's just sorta ok.

the original hitman from 2000 is kinda iffy as well but mostly because of the half baked game play ideas and general jankiness. and also the jungle levels which no one wants to think about again

Blood Money is great, Contracts is pretty good. The recent Hitman 1 and 2 are great and if anyone is interested in hitmanning then get Hitman 2 with the legacy pack

A++ highly recommended

I sort of want to play TLOU2 because apparently a lot of the early leaks were not accurate at all and everyone who gave it a fair shot seems to love it, but I’m still hung up on how gleeful they are about killing dogs and making the people you murder act like full characters and generally making everything you do as wrenching as possible. is it really like that?

so uh lets see how to do this without spoilers

its not like there is constant dog killing going on, i mean, it does happen but its not constant dog killing.

the people you murder act like full characters? fighting a group of people and when you shoot one of them someone will shout "oh no, gary!" or something but they are still mostly the random "cannon fodder" type as most games

a few of the characters you kill do get fleshed out back stories to the point where you may feel bad about their deaths.

i know there is reviews calling the game like "20 hours of misery" or whatever but no, not at all. there's actually a bunch of happy moments and at the very least not "misery" moments.

i'm not familiar with what the early leaks were so i can't say how accurate they were but from some of the (ugh) discourse around the game it is clear that some people have some seriously incorrect impressions of things.

Games that make you sit through 50 hours of unavoidable violence that you must manually engage only for them to bang "violence, bad, mmmkay, doing a violence is so bad" over your head a million times are infantile trash. there is nothing remotely interesting about that kind of narrative at all

yep, it's all part of the experience. i also was really frustrated with the lack of map at first, but it makes the world feel way larger and spookier and i'm glad there isn't one. just always carry some beacons with you in case you find something cool

I always forget to carry any but i've eventually learnt a bunch of landmarks and can sort of triangulate using my base beacons. it's defo better without a map.

yeah the more i think about it the more i really like no map

every single open world game with a map and a hud showing said map has the same problem, where you spend your traveling time staring at your hud instead of looking around. it’s bad in most games and it would be criminal in subnautica

story has slowed down a bit. i think the last progress thing was some... telepathy maybe? or maybe a 2 second fever dream from the infection. that was a while ago and i haven’t really seen much since. I’ve been putting off exploring the aurora but maybe I need to go do that

haven’t got the prawn suit yet but walking around on the seabed seems like it would be v slow and annoying. maybe it’s a lot better to use than it sounds. or maybe it’s useful in a few specific situations. i guess I’ll find out at some point

drat titan fall 2 is good and looks very nice, genuinely didn't realise it came out in 2016, though I guess thats partly because I have a 1070ti which was good spec for then so can run on insane settings

seeing all the frozen dudes making :pwn: faces flying through the air when the big maguffin thing explodes was pretty lol though

the cyclops and seamoth aren't really interchangeable, the seamoth is for exploring with no air timer and the cyclops is more of a mobile base you park somewhere to extend your range and delay making a long trip back. eventually the cyclops will be able to go deeper than any other vehicle so you will be doing most of your exploring with the handheld propeller thing (forgot the name) and going back to the cyclops for food/air

If you're gonna build a big base or do the endgame it really helps to have the prawn suit. And there is something super cool about when you jump into it inside the Cyclops and yank the handle and it drops you onto the seabed like a commando from a helicopter

picked up some games on sale

Everspace: essentially FTL, but you actually fly the ship instead of commanding the doods in it. its 6DOF but pretty arcadey. alot of roguelike ellements, upgrade parts, sell/buy things, get random encounters, etc. when u die you spend your money upgrading stuff for your next run

Deep Rock Galactic: bought this to play with my roommates. your a bunch of space dwarfs that go mining missions for some stupid corporation. they drop in a cave with a goal of "collect xxx yyy" and your on your own. you can dig though anything kinda like red faction, more combat focused than something like minecraft. bunch of fun with people in voice chat but i wouldnt play it solo
