same. i dont always agree with him. but i get where he comes from and he never comes off as a weird rear end in a top hat about it. he also makes interesting personal connections to stuff. like that bicker zombie game i forget the name off(days gone) because the main character reminded him of a family friend. or how personal the horror in SOMA was to him. like i know he is doing GR wildelands next and i will probably disagree with parts of that review but i will still love it.

Yes exactly he never devolves into the angry gamer "this sucks and if you like it then gently caress you then" thing. He's always very humble about himself which is great because I think humility is actually one of the most important things a critic can have. If you want to see what a critic without humility looks like, see Nostalgia Critic, Movie Bob, and Mauler. lol

Yea, a critic should stay humble about stuff. Not only does it just prevent you from being completely loving insufferable, but by keeping a lens of 'this is how it made ME feel, I understand it's not objective but here's my thoughts on it' you get stuff like his excellent talk about SOMA which was entirely from a personal place and not some 'objective measure of horror' nonsense. It's just good criticism, as well as keeping you from being absolutely boring.

he also doesn't turn into a weird scold type like some of clickbait types and mcitosh types either. he talks about gross poo poo in games and calls them out for it but he doest make it some crusade poo poo or say your bad person for liking a game or some poo poo. idk. noah is just chill and its a nice change.

said some dumb poo poo but nothing super bigoted/crazy I think. For projects proper it's mainly the same as ever I think, kinda shallow looks at popular games/series with lots of skits/jokes.

When the protests against police brutality were kicking off he made some post like "i just want to grill" or something, when he should have just not said anything. It seems like he is aware that outright racism will be largely forgiven for whatever reason (as ~just gamer things~), so long as he only does it once or twice. He still gets plenty of views, but Scott the Woz does his schtick much much better.

Jon actually did something semi-interesting in that he found and interviewed one of the contestants of Kid Nation, an old reality show where they rounded up a bunch of kids and have run a small town in the middle of nowhere. Basically the kids had to do stuff like cook their own food and clean toilet(s) and other stuff. A couple of kids had to be pulled out cause they accidentally drank bleach and another got grease burns when cooking.

Remember watching that show with Goons and it was absolutely hilarious in that everyone was wondering wtf they were thinking making this.

Hope Jim stands in solidarity against his former peer Anthony Burch ever tries to crawl his way back into the industry and subsequently gets called out...is what I would say if that Google Doc that documented all the accused in the last week hadn't also included him and pointed out at the dude works at Sony Santa Monica now and it seemingly says that on his LinkedIn as well so like, he's still in the industry? He never even really left? He even still has a public Twitter after he abandoned his first one the first time he was called out?

Among other things the most notable is that he may have engaged in a "Couch Casting" maneuver according to a few people in the industry, but nobody wants to actually write anything about it because it's not their story to tell, they just heard about through the grapevine.

It's a reference to the "casting couch," which is when a producer or director or what-have-you tries to leverage their position to coerce sex out of an actress in exchange for a role, yes.

its mostly small indie projects that he works on along with cartoons i guess. his twitter is mostly him saying various generic "gently caress trump"/random access humor" type poo poo. He is probably never gonna be publicaly named and shamed again, but it wouldnt surprise me either way. he had enough famous friends/aqutences (that he was fine betraying on and off) that he probably quietly got removed and blacklisted rather than outed and ruined.
