Question about legal immigration: I have an aunt that is a UK citizen. Would this fact help me at all to become a legal UK resident/citizen? In the USA, we have "chain migration" which basically entitles the entire loving family tree to come over, once one person gets their foot in the door. Does the UK have something similar?

Other than a few minor exceptions it's only parent, child or spouse visas. After five years of residency under a visa you can get ILR (indefinite leave to remain) which allows citizenship.

I think it's only if one or more of your parents or grandparents are citizens.

Be prepared to pay coming up on about 10 grand in total over those five years if you go the spousal visa route, too. It isn't cheap.

The Govt haven't released any official lists yet. The media are talking about some kind of list non-stop for the last 2 days. A Govt official must have said something for them to be on it so much.

The long list is any area where the infection rate isn't falling.

The Graun reckons that Anglesey, Barnsley and Gwnedd are the areas most likely to be next (higher infection rates than Leicester and spiking).

I'm not Welsh and I live in England, but a lot of people especially in the rural areas are worried about tourists, many of these places haven't had a lot of cases yet but if people from harder hit areas flood the very few large shops and so forth there will definitely be increased spread
