I think it's a fundamentally bad idea and a recipe for this exact kind of trouble to allow unsupervised minors and adults to interact like this. I don't know what the solution is or if would be possible to run separate adult and child scenes, but stuff like this will likely keep happening as long as the current arrangements continue.

I think the only good way for competitive Smash to go forward is to completely separate below-18 and adult events, like what the official Pokemon scene has. Probably require family/friend of family guardians as well.
