Obama, like Trump, is only good at the media hype-train spectacle, not the nitty gritty messaging, skull cracking, fighting behind the scenes of politics. All he knows is decorum. First 100 day priorities will be: - At least one Republican cabinet member and one "Left" cabinet member (who will be ignored while the Republican has a seat at the table), to demonstrate "unity" - White House press briefings will be back but with Biden basically answering no questions. Oh, he's incoherent? Well, be glad these exist and "at least he's not Trump!" - Big fuss about a Tubman bust or painting in the Oval Office, or some other empty gesture to BLM - Depoliticize people. They figure people are sick of being "political" because they saw how people got outraged at Trump, so there will be no big initiatives, especially any stimulus cuz "we're broke, folks!" - Some show of force against Russia AND China - Show the bond traders the US is "serious" about getting its ballooning budget deficits under control, but without ANY cuts to the military budget (look at the fit they threw with the sequester). - Big legislative showdown over entitlement reform where the Dems cave and cave in the name of compromise to what amount to cuts for anyone under 45 His approval ratings will steadily decline, but unlike Trump he won't have a firm base of support because he'll have done nothing for his base. He might have a stroke, who the gently caress knows, but he'll be more and more out of the picture. In any case, Dems absolutely eat poo poo in 2022, gaining not a single Republican seat and losing, like, New Hampshire or Maryland. House will probably flip due to utter demoralization among the youth, BLM activists, and suburbanites flipping back, hard, to Republicans vis-a-vie 2020.
