i wish a renegade librarian would let me borrow books indefinitely and not determine what books are and are not appropriate for me to read. It's sooo dreamy.

Do they have one about living at the library? Like, swap the lady w/ a police officer and the kid w/ a hobo and I feel like we are halfway there, tbh. Maybe swap the book w/ a cardboard box or something. We can use this thread to workshop the idea since clearly OP is out of ideas of what to do with their own goddamn thread

They're also mad that they weren't allowed to unionize like the teachers and now get paid less despite being way smarter and having more degrees.

The kind of teacher that would complain in person about AR levels would probably put in enough effort to to make an actual reading list for students, so that strip is dumb

I'm glad they made an LLC to publish this just in case their webcomic developed vast, unsupportable debts, but I'm worried that the LLC's extravagent website might soak up all the profits.

God these books are so good. Each one is like an unfolding sun-kissed flower of depth and color complexity with the sweetest nectar at the end, and I’m just a happy little bee eating every drop of nectar. The only thing that would make it better would be putting a record on the turntable and listening to it while I read with my little elf ears. “Sir this is a sunglass hut kiosk” ClamdestineBoyster fucked around with this message at 00:16 on Jul 14, 2020 |

So are public libraries like convenience stores where the inappropriate stuff like nudie mags are up high and covered with a black wrapping?

i used to work at a library when i was in high school. it was fun! pretty much anything goes at the library unless you are causing a fuss. like jerking off in plain view of everyone. that guy got asked to leave. i put away books. they called us "pages." i never understood the reference until many years later. maybe i should not have been working at a library.

The origin of the term is uncertain, but it may come either from the Latin pagus (servant), possibly linked to peasant, or an earlier Greek word παῖς (pais = child).

I never returned a book and the librarian who advised me I couldn't take out a new membership until I returned the book had a lovely attitude about it. So I never returned it. I'm currently banned from membership at all state and federal libraries. I will never return the book
