Thanks - that got me testing a few elements out, and it turns out its a VPN issue. When Im connected to Nord VPN, it breaks twitter embeds for some reason.

Some VPN services have tracking protection enabled by default in their browser extensions (if that's what you're using), usually it's possible to disable those.

Is there an extention that will copy the links for all images in an imgur album to the clipboard? I occasionally find a set of images that I want to post in the meme thread, and right now, I have to right click an image, copy the link, switch to the forums, paste the link into my reply, then go to the next image, one by one.

Everything I'm finding is for bulk image downloading.

That sounds like something you could write a userscript for - if one doesn't already exist.

Edit: Dang, I thought you could scrape a gallery page easily enough with javascript but (in Chrome at least) you just get a bunch of WEBP links. The <img> tags change their src to actual JPGs if you right click them but I haven't found a reliable way to do that.

This works on album pages to get a list of URLs. You could extend this and put it in a userscript to format as necessary and copy to the clipboard (https mangled to xttps to stop the forums from inserting BBCode):

code:
window.runSlots.item.album_images.images.map(i => `xttps://i.imgur.com/${i.hash}.jpg`)
For gallery pages, you could just rewrite the page to an album link (replace "gallery" with "a" in the URL) and then do the same.

I'd be interested to know how this works - what is window.runSlots?

It's a variable created by the Javascript that imgur uses to run their album pages. Since they're creating it on the window object (as opposed to it being a Javascript variable within a function scope), any other arbitrary script can read it off the window object too.

Cool - did you already know that existed or did you reverse-engineer it?

Edit: It seems on gallery pages window.runSlots is undefined

Just did a View Source on the page, found the Javascript where all the album images were being defined, and lucked out that they were storing it in a globally-accessible place and not hiding it in a function closure.

nexus6 posted:

Yeah, gallery pages are a bit more of a problem because it seems they do hide their data within closures. I didn't devote a whole lot of time to digging into them though, since you can just change the gallery URL to an album URL and get the data that way.

They tapdance not, neither do they fart
There was a Chrome update today and now the Youtube 3 dot menu next to the videos name/poster is missing.
This menu allowed you to click 'don't recommend this channel' or 'don't show this channel'.
I loved this feature because YT recommends a load of pure trash videos because they are slightly related to things you've watched.

i.e I like Minecraft so YT would recommend Pewdiepie.
Which no one really wants.

Any other options for this?

e: weird. that menu shows up if i go incognito mode and sign in under another gmail account.

Maybe I've hit my 'don't show me poo poo videos' limit.

e2: i dont have very many extensions and don't think any of them could be screwing with it.

e3: i've used ublock origin to block some ads that youtube had been slipping into the recommended videos, by right clicking on it and blocking element.
I'm guessing thy did some naming fuckery and somehow that menu is part of the ad now.
Since the menu shows up if I disable ublock.
Weird that it took days at least for that to take affect.

Starting today Chrome stopped loading web sites at all. All other browsers worked fine.

Started working normally when I disabled uBlock Origin, but that's not a viable long term solution.

Did something happen with uBlock Origin (or possibly Chrome itself)? Is this a sign I'll need to change my adblocker again?

I also use Ublock Origin and i'm fine.
Maybe try forcing an update on it?
Or check its options and maybe export and wipe it, to see if it works ok on default.

Is there a way beyond disabling "Autocomplete searches and URLs" to get rid of how many company logos show up in omnibox search suggestions?

I feel like it's only recently that this happened, before it seemed like it pulled from music, movies and people more often. It just reminds me of old ISPs and how they'd give top billing to retailers and stuff on their provided homepages.

No, seriously... what kurds?!
I have a bunch of lag issues with Chredge (and also Chrome), when video is playing and it resizes smoothly for whatever reason, e.g. the site doing an animation when switching viewport sizes, or there being user resizable elements. That lag caused weird issues internally, leading to an eventual GPU driver crash after some runtime.

I eventually noticed that it only happens on my primary display but not the secondary one, and finally tracked it down to multimonitor while using VRR/G-Sync. Disabling fullscreen-only G-Sync made things work flawlessly. Of course, that's not an option. Finally, I found that if you go into Edge/Chrome flags/experiments and force the ANGLE backend to D3D11on12, everything's smooth as butter, with two displays and G-Sync. So if you have weird issues, try that one.

What’s a good tab manager app for Chrome? Something that lets me scroll through the tabs like Firefox does, so I can see ALL of my tabs and not just whatever number Chrome can cram into a single window?

I remember reading about a thing called TooManyTabs that may do this, but that was like 2 and a half years ago and I wanna know if there’s something better now.

I've used TooManyTabs and SessionBuddy off and on. The former is probably more what you're looking for, the latter is more to make sure you can restore your tabs if you lose them, although it does let you browse them.

I guess I was going off the whole basic attention token you generate and can donate to people since it's a cryptocurrency around brave browser users looking at websites. Tom Scott had an issue with them because they were taking BAT donations for him but he wasn't signed up to accept them in any way, and didn't want to be. So where were they going? It sounds like they've changed that since Dec 2018 when it came up, but it still seems like a browser built around shady bitcoiner poo poo to me:

Brave is a cryptocurrency grift. Right now they're grifting investors and ICO hounds and buttcoiners with their idiotic BAT thing. You can say, that's fine by me, I'm not one of those people. So I'm just gonna use the browser and ignore the crypto bullshit.

But grifters gonna grift, so my advice to any Brave user would be to at least keep on top of what's happening with the browser. Someday they may run out of other fools and look for new targets.

Mostly I can't imagine using brave when vivaldi exists and isn't run by the people brave is run by.

Sooo I installed TooManyTabs a few days ago and so far it is doing nothing to fix my "shitload of tabs crammed into a single window and I can't scroll through them like on Firefox and once there's a certain number of tabs Chrome shoves the ones on the far right off-screen where I can't click them or get to them at all" problem. TooManyTabs was not fun for me when I paused a bunch of tabs for later then went back and the extension crashed and lost like half of the ones I had paused with no way to figure out which ones they were or to try again. It just had said the extension stopped working. So I uninstalled it. SessionBuddy is kind of nice though.

If I get that many tabs in a single window I make another one and split them up by subject or whatever. I've only got about 950 tabs open though.
