Have they fixed the windows store version of the game so that it doesn't randomly break and become uninstallable?

The Arks-Layer version is better in every single way do not play the MS Store version!!

They have not. My installation broke this morning and I had to reinstall. The SG scratch being introduced at ludicrous prices doesn't help their reputation either.

But I'm still playing because it's fun.

Anyone cleared the new Challenge Quest yet? I've done two runs the last two evenings with my alliance and it's pretty brutal. We got about 85% clear both times and it took an hour. Really fun though, nice to have a challenge even if it's as hosed up as having to dodge an overleveled version of the fire bired from ultimate while fighting another boss.

Also at one point I got put into one of those falspawn prisons a mile away from my team, and I was stuck in there with the giant beetle boss. Thankfully I had a self-res doll on me.

Yeah, Mission: Strike was actually the original challenge quest when they were introduced in JP, and it's much harder than Decision.

A big thing to help with clearing it is to have defined roles. For example, have one person be the dedicated aggro who'll kite the level 80 burn draal and vomos around while everyone else deals with the other enemies. There's also a good bit of hidden VR energy in Mission 9, so a dedicated VR manager who knows the possible locations of the capsules (they'll appear in 1 of 3 places on most every tile) is very useful as well.

Also yeah when you take the western path in Mission 6 one person will always get separated from the group and put in the thunderdome with a Ragne. The Northern route is actually super fast, everyone gets put into a small room and all you have to do is take down two Wolgadas and a Falz Hyunal, but it can be pretty dangerous if you don't have a group make up of people who all know exactly what they're doing.

It’s a little crazy that people spend human dollars on things that ends up, mostly, containing poo poo worth a few hundred thousand meseta. You have a slim chance of getting maybe 6m meseta on an outfit at the top end. The value proposition doesn’t make sense. I haven’t bought anything with real dollars other than MAGs and an inventory expansion and I regret buying the mags. I also have about 40m meseta from doing stupid poo poo and have 0 level 75 classes.

You make a cool 2m or so in an hour by starting a character and getting them to 30 to sell the mag devices, if you’re hurting for cash. Seems to be the best way to make quick money? Whatever I haven’t done it in a while, weeklies and dailies alone give you a ton of bux.

You get pick tickets every so many pulls, so every 30 or 40 you're guaranteed to get that item that's worth 16-40 million (yes they sell for that much, not just 6 million) before the scratch is even over.

It makes more sense when you realize that some people make a hundred dollars an hour and have a lot of discretionary income they don't want to instead spend on rent seeking, stock market gambling, other hobbies or a large fancy house.

I pulled 5 times with the SG I just had from doing stuff and got Captive Records on the 4th one. I don't need charts and graphs to know this is one of the big ticket mega-whale items and it'd sell for a million billion mesetas if you could sell SG scratch stuff. I'm just gonna go back to saving my SG for mission pass and the occasional SG Shop accessory.

I guess I'm gonna try to turn this into 'swimwear' for my FO? Pretty sure sunglasses and an umbrella will take it from 'basically naked' to 'basically naked but god bless you for trying'

edit: CR would be pretty cool if it was part of layering wear or maybe a body paint

Evening, patrolmaaan.
Are they a lot more stingy with SG in the US version?
In the JP version I always seem to have loads of it and I’m not going out of my way to get it (like by grinding costumes that give you SG by wearing them enough), to the point where I’ve bought AC before but I’ve never even looked at how much it costs to buy SG.

They are. They don't have SG in the casino, and we don't have PVP yet to get the SG from both the paycheck and from the arena points. They also changed arks league rewards to give out exp tickets instead of star gems (although they only had 1 round of arks leagues and it was months ago at this point).

However, even then, if you're scratching for any specific set in JP SG scratch you're gonna run out real quick. It's just even worse over here, especially since they cut down on the 6 month runtime that these scratches have in JP to just 6 weeks for NA.

So far sg has been easy to come by, and if you use it for sensible stuff theres more than enough. If you're fishing for something on the scratch though, you're probably doomed

Hyper Inferno

My theory on why SG isn't allowed in the casino is an abundance of caution regarding gambling laws. If SG were in the game, that would mean you could spend money for CC (at a terrible rate through the swap shop) and then spend those CC for SG (which could also be bought with real money). I'm not sure how Japanese law gets around this (or if their gacha laws are more developed) but that just feels like it would get additional scrutiny for North American countries for not much benefit.

That looks like an almost entirely different game.

This can't be a PSO3 so soon after PSO2 just dropped for NA. That seems like it'd cannibalize the playerbase super hard and stop new players from joining until this new version comes out if it's completely divorced from current PSO2.

That's why I thought it was kind of a dumb guess, but maybe bringing over PSO2 is a bit of a "make good" if New Genesis is supposed to be set in the same setting?

InspectorCarbonara

Evening, patrolmaaan.
The Japanese trailer for this has the same platforms that PSO2 is currently on (PS4, Cloud version on Switch) so I'm thinking this is a large scale update for PSO2 which would explain why they aren't doing episode 7 and dropped/are dropping Vita support.

Hitlersaurus Christ

Looks Monster Hunter inspired. I wonder if it’s a retail game? It sure seems to me like a proper sequel gameplay wise, they probably just didn’t call it PSO3 because it’s still set in the PSO2 universe.

This is from the description of the youtube trailer on the PSO2 NA account

quote:

Celebrating PSO’s 20th anniversary, PSO2: NGS is the latest entry in the series, updating PSO2’s game system and graphics engine. We’re planning to release this update on a global scale, including Japan and North America.

It seems like a giant tech overhaul to the existing game, pretty exciting.

Yeah on the Japanese side of the game they've been teasing a "big update" after episode 6 ends for months, with the only information about it being that "It isn't Episode 7," and "Most people will be surprised by it"

And now I guess we learned what that big update was
