Pardon my kvetch. Comcast is the worst company with whom I've ever had the mispleasure of dealing. When my dad died, I went through about 17 customer service reps who demanded to speak to the primary account holder when I had to cancel his account. I had to explain, to grown-rear end adults, the finality of death. Now they're being super lovely about me changing my name. I'm on my fifth rep, and this is the first — the FIRST — to even know what a trans person is.

Comcast is one of those companies that's almost comically lovely. Like every single time you deal with them you know it's gonna be some fresh new hell, and they know you know and just don't give a gently caress. I did manage to scam them out of free cable for like 4 years though, my own petty revenge for a lifetime of total bullshit.

I guess I'm just lucky, I've never had trouble with them. Maybe it's because I'm a baritone-voiced dude, but even cancelling it only took about 30 seconds of "Yes, I'm paying $50 for gigabit, yes I'm sure it's gigabit, no it's not CenturyLink, it's municipal" for them to accept a cancellation. They didn't even "accidentally" bill me for another month.
