I really like CCR but the funniest thing about them to me is that despite the whole "good ol' boys born on the bayou from down south" thing, they are from San Francisco. That's better than signed stuff in my opinion. Admittedly I tend to be at shows from smaller bands than say, Parliament. But I feel like even more so when you're a big name like that people just want to say they saw you and people who are really there for the music matter. A lot of times my entire interaction with a musician off stage consists of me walking by them while they buy a drink or load gear out of the venue, and me leaning in and saying "good set tonight," and just keep moving, sometimes it really seems like it makes a difference to them. |

The first pfunk concert I went to was in ft collins Colorado at this place called the Aggie and I remember George's granddaughter opened the show with an aggressive rap song about smoking weed and this guy in the crowd wearing a maggot brain t-shirt sparked up a joint and the Aggie staff descended on him like locusts and booted his rear end out. |
