Looks like the Foodsaver vacuum sealer is $50 off next week. I foresee large quantities of smoked meats in my future.

This has been amazing for me and I highly recommend it in conjunction with Sous Vide cooking.

Alright, it's official, my Roommate and I are going to Costco this weekend, I'm going to walk around first but if it's half as good as y'all are saying I'll probably walk out with a Membership and at least like $100 in Booze, plus a lot of frozen veggies and all our other staples, except fresh produce unless the stuff at my local location is better than the people in this thread seem to imply.

At at the end, I gotta admit, despite not having once since I was a kid living with my Grandma back when Bush was president....

I might be thinkin' about that dog.

I've got a foodsaver but I don't have a sous vide cooker. Can I just cook things in normal foodsaver bags, or do you need special bags?

You do in normal states that don’t force the booze into some weird adjacent pretending it’s a different store

Foodsaver bags are fine as are ziplock bags or basically anything that doesn’t leak

I wouldn’t trust a ziplock for like a 48 hour cook but they’re fine for most things.

I dunno which costcos in Canada have booze if any but sadly not in BC where I live :sigh:

That’s always the most interesting part of going to a US costco checking out the massive bottles of expensive booze.

Thanks for the heads up. I got a sous vide in May and has been thinking about a real vacuum sealer (mine came with a hand pump one that is fine but requires lots of cleaning).

I love those things. They are the most breathable and wicking socks ever AND they don’t have a stupid extra inch of foot space so that you have to pull the heel turn up to your ankles to have a bunch-free sock.

Do they ever have those in women sizes? I love mine, but my wife has tiny feet and I think even the small mens would be too big for her.
