- Detailed Results here.
- On the pre-show, the Riott Squad (The Living Riott?) defeated The IIconics in a tag match.
- Bobby Lashley defeated Apollo Crews (C) to become the new United States Champion.
- Roman Reigns still hasn't signed the contract for the Triple Threat.
- BIG E defeated Sheamus in a singles match.
- Literal accused rapist Matt Riddle defeated Baron Corbin in a singles match. They grossly sold a storyline that Riddle was having trouble at home, never outright saying but implying it was because of the affair he finally admitted to (while denying the rape).
- Corbin assaulted Riddle backstage, making the whole thing pointless.
- Shayna Baszler defeated Bayley and Sasha Banks (C) to win the Women's Tag Team Titles. Nia Jax was also in the match.
- Keith Lee defeated Randy Orton clean as a sheet in a quick singles match. Orton was shocked.
- Rey Mysterio and his large adult son Dominick defeated Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy in a tag match. Rollins seemed angry at Murphy post-match.
- Roman didn't show up to the start of the Triple Threat Universal Title match. Alexa Bliss was standing at a 3/4 angle facing away from a television she was apparently watching.
- Braun and The Fiend broke the ring in a superplex spot. Roman Reigns finally showed up, kicked Bray Wyatt on the dick, speared Braun and pinned him to win the Universal Championship.

Smackdown Results 8/28
- Detailed Results here.
- A memorial graphic aired in memory of the recently deceased Bullet Bob Armstrong.
- Adam Pearce tasked security with keeping Retribution out of the building, then went and spoke with Vince McMahon who tasked him with getting the Triple Threat for the Universal Title at Payback signed.
- AJ Styles confronted Jeff Hardy in the ring, complaining he cheated to win the Intercontinental Title last week.
- Jeff Hardy (C) defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in an unadvertised Intercontinental Title match. AJ was on guest commentary and accusing Hardy of still using his knee brace to cheat. Cesaro was shown backstage upset Nakamura hadn't told him he was challenging Hardy.
- Sami Zayn returned with his IC Title, joyously skanking around a confused Jeff Hardy and calling him a fraud. He knocked down Hardy with his belt after Hardy was distracted by AJ Styles.
- Backstage, Sami mocked the interviewer for dumb questions, said he was the true IC Champion and finished his promo in French.
- On the Firefly Funhouse, Bray signed the contract brought to him by Adam Pearce (dressed as a postman) for the Triple Threat at Payback.
- Literal accused rapist Matt Riddle called out Baron Corbin, but got jumped by Chad Gable. Riddle defeated Gable in like 2 minutes, then attacked Corbin when he tried to ambush him postmatch.
- BIG E and Heavy Machinery were booked against Miz & Morrison and Sheamus in a six-man tag, based on interactions earlier in the day (but the match still wasn't advertised until after the show started?).
- Bayley mocked BIG E backstage because "some people are only cut out for being tag champ", and didn't notice how hurt Sasha Banks was by this statement.
- Adam Pearce couldn't find Roman Reigns. Baron Corbin cut a promo backstage against literal accused rapist Matt Riddle and challenged him to a match at Payback.
- Bayley and Sasha did an in-ring promo and got interrupted by Nia and Shayna on the titantron. This was only noteworthy for the uncomfortable tension between Bayley and Sasha over Sasha losing her Raw Women's Championship.
- Drew Gulak hit Braun Strowman in the back with a chair and tried to blame Adam Pearce for it. Braun told Pearce he would sign the contract only if Pearce got Drew in the ring for a match.
- Sami gleefully rejoined a sceptical Shinsuke and Cesaro backstage and took credit for them being tag champions, then tried to laugh off the fact they told him to leave them alone to discuss tag team strategy in private.
- Braun Strowman demolished Drew Gulak in a match, then signed the contract Adam Pearce gave him.
- Shinsuke and Cesaro jumped the rest of Lucha House Party backstage after Kallisto had gone to the ring for his match against Cesaro.
- Cesaro defeated Kallisto while the rest of LHP were attacking Nakamura backstage. Kallisto was pissed off about this.
- Vince McMahon told Adam Pearce to literally break down the door to Roman Reigns' room to get the third signature.
- Alexa Bliss lost her poo poo at Nikki Cross and Tamina over her new hairstyle and smashed a coffee mug Alexa gave Nikki last year.
- Morrison offered Miz and Sheamus his strategy for their six-man tag: they had to make sure neither BIG E, Otis nor Tucker were able to tag in at any point during the match.
- Adam Pearce realized Roman's door was unlocked, walked in and handed him the contract. Masterful storytelling.
- BIG E and Heavy Machinery defeated Miz/Morrison/Sheamus. Sheamus walked out towards the end of the match, furious at The Miz. Big E pinned The Miz following The Big Ending.
- Paul Heyman is managing Roman Reigns now. Okay.

- Lashley beat up Dolph Ziggler at Raw Underground, then some of Shane's nobodies.

CJ2 here to say I'm a constant fuckup who might have accidentally edited out a whole last month's recap, so uh give me a minute here...Last month's recap:
- NXT's Great American Bash ended with Keith Lee defeating Adam Cole to become double champ (NXT champ and North American champ). Two weeks later he announced vacating the North American title because he didn't want to actually be double champ I guess?
- The next North American champ will be decided via a ladder match at the Takeover later this month, participants decided via various triple threats. Qualified thus far for the match: Bronson Reed and Dexter Lumis
- Io Shirai will next defend her women's title at that Takeover against either Dakota Kai or Rhea Ripley
- Karrion Kross has his sights set on Keith Lee and his world title. Maybe that's a Takeover match too?
- Extreme Rules was a show that occurred. Cesaro and Nakamura became SD tag champs! Aside from that...
- "Seth Rollins defeated Rey Mysterio in an Eye for an Eye match. The match came to an abrupt end with Rey shielding a cartoonishly cheap eyeball prop (a sharpied ping-pong ball?) against his eye socket, and Seth vomiting. You think I'm lying, but I'm not.
Asuka (C) vs. Sasha Banks for the Raw Women's Title....ended? Bayley stole the ref's shirt after he was misted by Asuka, hit her with a belt and counted the pinfall for Sasha, then grabbed the belts, forced the timekeeper to ring the bell and declared Sasha the winner. No idea what the official ruling was.
An update on Rey Mysterio was given that maybe he'll still be able to see okay after all.
The non-title Swamp Match between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt was a godawful mess and ended with The Fiend emerging from the swamp after a lame non-finish ending where both Bray and Braun disappeared into the water. Words can't express how awful this match was."
- Summerslam will be taking place this month! At the Performance Center, not in Boston as originally planned because coronavirus is still a thing, regardless of if they acknowledge it
- Randy Orton punted Big Show and is now challenging Drew McIntyre for the WWE title at Summerslam. The Drew/Dolph feud might finally be over? Maybe?
- The Fiend Bray Wyatt attacked Alexa on the most recent SD, and was extremely creepy while doing it. The Bray/Braun feud is not finally over, unfortunately
- Seth Rollins, in the aftermath of maybe temporarily maybe permanently blinding Rey Mysterio, is now in a feud with Rey's son Dominick who has never had a match before
- Apollo Crews is United States champ! He mysteriously disappeared for a few weeks due to a reason that was definitely not coronavirus, and was unable to defend at Extreme Rules against MVP, so MVP is also maybe United States champ? They both have belts. I don't loving know
- Street Profits finally moved on from a feud with the Viking Raiders, and will now defend the Raw tag titles at Summerslam against Andrade and Angel Garza
- Kairi Sane fulfilled her last contractual obligations with the company and is on her way back to Japan to retire. With a clean pin over Bayley it had looked like she managed to pull off the unthinkable and have a great exit from the company
- Sasha Banks became the new Raw women's champ the following week after Asuka got counted out trying to save Kairi from...a normal backstage beatdown, which was how they actually decided to depict her exit from the company. Easy come, easy go
- Big E is going to try to be a singles champion. He has the full support of his friends in the New Day. It's good to see friends being actual friends to each other
- Naomi deserves better
- Matt Riddle, an accused literal rapist, does not
- Raw ratings continued to hit rock bottom
- The company continued to make all the money despite it
- Seth Rollins thinks you should stop complaining https://talksport.com/sport/wrestling/739909/seth-rollins-rey-mysterio-eye-for-an-eye-vince-mcmahon/
- Nobody knew tested positive for corona! That we know of, because talent have previously been yelled at for making their diagnosis voluntarily public!
- NXT UK might still be a thing! Maybe?
