no suggestions to give to prevent it because my cats snag my couch like crazy too just by walking on it, but I can say that the best way to fix a snag in fabric is to push the snag through to the wrong side of the fabric. don't trim it because that can cause a run.

I got a new phone and have been experimenting with the camera. Have been using Android since 2010 but decided to try an iPhone 11 Pro in February, and realized Monday that I loving hated it. Well, I hated everything except the camera:

These aren't like, the best photos or whatever, but they serve as a reference for what my 11 Pro could do if I just whipped it out of my pocket, pointed it at something and took a picture. They're nice and in focus enough, and the color balance feels about right to me.

This is Malory (Samsung S20+, 1x lens, all default settings)

whooooooooaaaaaa what the gently caress is with those colors, it's like I took acid. Focus/DOF looks good to me but it's like they turned the HDR knob all the way up and broke it off.

(S20+, 1x lens, HDR off, all other settings default)

So the first thing the phone did was tell me that I'd get better results if I turned HDR back on. Thanks, Samsung...
Anyways the colors still feel oversaturated to me - turns out this is because "Scene Optimizer" is turned on.

(S20+, 1x lens, HDR off, Scene Optimizer off, all other settings default)

OK now we're starting to get somewhere; Malory's coat is now starting to resemble what it should really look like - she is a very gray cat and the other photo modes were really exaggerating the caramel tones by her neck a bit too much. I still think this is oversaturated, however.

I went off to do some research and found the answer: Pro Mode with RAW
(S20+, 1x lens, PRO mode + RAW)

I wish she were still by the window when I took this so I could compare the greens out the window, but I'm happy with this. Color is pretty much spot-on.

The thermoneutral zone ("room temperature") for cats is about 20 degrees warmer than that of humans, so that's why they are always heat-thieving.
