California legend Huell Howser did a depressing tour of the Salton Sea area with a bunch of local yokels. The highlight of the episode is Huell and some rando strolling around Bombay Beach and the only thing of interest the guy can point out is all the dead fish and the bars that got burned down or flooded. The Salton Sea only exists because we hosed up the Colorado River 100 years ago, and now we spend all this effort keeping a valley in the middle of what should be barren desert an agricultural area. We should just let the sea dry up and do our farming in places that actually have water. Spinz posted:I'm serious.
