They were talking about him having a crushed palate. As in the bit of your skull at the top and front of your mouth that your teeth grow out of and that separates your mouth from your nasal cavity.

We had not left it yet, but when I would wake in the night, I would lie, listening, homesick for it already.

Apparently Tony Martin rescued a child from a hailstorm so missed the time cut off but has been allowed to continue.

This is like 2 days late apparently. Here's the video of him carrying a young Jumbo Visma fan up an embankment to shelter

Yes, he’s also lucky he didn’t die. I’m saying a fractured pelvis still loving sucks.

Arigato, Racists.
Lots of injuries yesterday :ohdear: Evenepoel, Kruiswijk, Schachmann, Buchmann, Roglic

It seems to me like there's more injuries in general in the racing so far. Is it just that the races are crammed together so the frequency is higher making it seem like there's more? Could also be riders being a bit out of practice riding so aggressively or different/hotter weather etc. Quite a few of the recent crashes have been down to course organisation too though.

Smirr
Jun 28, 2012

I think it's a combination of everything you said. In terms of the age of the season, we're at the stage where riders still inexplicably do somersaults into sewage ditches because they've forgotten how to ride. In terms of calendar and weather, we're supposed to be deep in the post-Tour hole where everyone would normally take a breather. Now that hole is filled with back to back monuments and basically three concurrent GT preparations. And there's probably more problems with course organization, too, since everything was cobbled together at comparatively short notice.
