Captain Invictus posted:these two are the exact same product contentwise, just one's got a fancy jacket on for individual booster sale at walmart and such, right? there's functionally no difference in terms of cards/frequency of what's in them? I’m not advocating for you to get in trouble, but if they are just throwing them away try to double back and scoop them up. They may have completely nuked companions, but the Godzilla art and foil showcase Mutants actually command a pretty respectable price, especially Brokkos//Biolante, and the Triomes are just good magic cards that everyone should get playsets of now while they are cheaper than dirt. “One man’s trash” is a powerful axiom, I made enough money to buy a car and a pretty awesome vacation by roughly pulling the same stunt in college (not magic cards, just extremely valuable stuff the school I worked for was just throwing away, I’d tie those trash bags differently, then I would dumpster dive for them to sell the contents) Yeah also I have to imagine they took a huge bath on Collector Boosters in Big Box retailers, but there was also that time Brian Gottlieb tweeted from his local Target that every single Ikoria collector booster in the store had been repacked with a regular booster pack. He looked at all 20 of them, which means someone literally working for either Target or the distributor itself was scamming them. Bust Rodd fucked around with this message at 14:27 on Aug 24, 2020 |

Thems dumpsters private property. You could just keep an eye on them and text a buddy though. Use a burner or just tell them irl to stop it from getting back to you if'n your afraid of that. Or don't, cardboard isn't worth losing your job over.

I quite like the rapid fire eternal-relevant (Historic, at least) set releases, I'm hoping they announce Kaladesh Remastered for between Zendikar and the winter set. Maybe it's particular to arena but I think it's good the format keeps getting stirred a bit.

The Arena only Pioneer Masters scheduled for before the end of the year is definitely going to shake it up. I think Arena is targeting a monthly release just like WotC's paper division at this point.

When you are suffering against one for one do nothing control or losing to the 4x Ugin deck remember this is what people who wanted Field banned asked for. Magic has too much garbage time and banning Field just created way more of it.

Look dude just because your pet deck bad version of Field was beatable that doesn't mean that good builds of Field weren't problematic. I'd have been fine if they waited to see if things shook up at all, but I also understand that this is now the 4th time Field has been too good and maybe they don't want to wait to see if it started to kill the format. Hour of Promise + Field was good enough to beat all the hate in Pioneer, and none of the solutions you've suggested are all that good. Wraths are medium at best against Field, since they are spells answering the bonus from lands and they merely delay things against a proactive ramp deck. Virulent Plague is similar but can slow things down for longer. Massacre Wurm is okay but it's a 6 mana sorcery that they'll often Tseize or counter, and the deck that can utilize it best is Sultai Field itself.

I think I would've hit hour of promise and uro rather than field of the dead tbqh. Make the control decks win the game at some point. The turbo ramp decks have plenty of ways to win the game anyway, take out some of the best turbo ramp and i think we'll get somewhere.

yeah ramp decks need to do something while they’re ramping to not die. field just let that happen incidentally, now you have to put spells in your deck and cast them so you don’t just lose on turn 4 to muxus or burn
