Which one? There's the one that most major news agencies have picked up, which is the shooter getting downed, firing on people, and then walking to police:
NMS DEAD PEOPLE/GORE INSIDE: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZTDkjU-X5M; there are videos from at least two other angles. One was taken from far away, but the second is relatively clear and close. The only YT link I have found for the clear video has the actual attacks/shooting cut out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVNjwHylxbk.
There is also a FB link to the further-away video; I'm not sure it reveals any more about the incident but has some of the aftermath, and shows the guy who got hit in the arm is still holding the pistol that I believe he had out when he attacked the guy on the ground:
NMS DEAD PEOPLE/GORE INSIDE:
https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?v=726145031563748&ref=watch_permalink

I usually try not to form an opinion based on any YT "commentators" videos because they're always trying to push an agenda and there's always room for video cuts/editing to slant it one way or another. BUT there is some footage that's not linkable or I haven't been able to attribute, so: I don't support these video creators or their comments, mute the VO and just watch, etc.:

You shared it with a dick.

My biggest problem is that these VIOLENT PROTESTERS have killed like exactly zero people. Maybe one or two I haven't heard about. But all the cops, peacekeepers and property defenders are killing in the dozens, just since the George Floyd incident. Their right wing gun nut ilk have killed hundreds over the years.

That kid has killed more people than all of Antifa combined. He and people like him are the threat and they need to knock it the gently caress off.

Dude I'm not sure what you're trying to prove, but that kid is an idiot without full function of his frontal lobe and had no business being in that situation with a loaded assault rifle. There's no defending his actions because he should have never stepped foot in that situation to begin with, I don't care who started the altercation.

All of the emotions got the best of these people. Logical thinking is out the window now, this is going to get way worse before it gets better and it sucks.

I don’t think that first bit is true. Some officers have been killed drive by style in retaliation.

On the whole, far more protestors, news crews etc have been killed or harmed by police.

Also, the kid was 17. Too young to legally carry. Why is the right not talking about this? His presence was illegal. Top to bottom provocateur. Statues and buildings can be replaced. Lives can’t.

Yep. My take on the Kenosha thing so far is that while he may have been justifiably defending himself, he put himself in that situation to begin with, for whatever reason. The only way to ensure a gun won't be fired is to not bring it. It obviously wasn't much of a deterrent. There was a whole lot of "shouldn't have done that" on both sides of the argument. He probably did have at least a little bit of a hero fantasy of defending the righteous or whatever, and it went horribly wrong, and not just for him. I'm definitely ACAB, but this here is not as clear cut, to me at least.

It's funny - dystopian totalitarian fiction always felt like an extreme extrapolation of what was possible, but... here we are. It seems more accurate by the day, and not just the US.

It's interesting that that is the video you'd chose to comment on, rather than the videos of actual actions that took place.

I think that, when trying to judge intention and morality, you have to take people at their word until their actions show otherwise. So the interview with this 17 year old at least shows he wasn't openly claiming to be there to shoot at folks. If that was the case, then I'd just throw my hands up in the air and say "Alright, he went there with the intention to shoot people and maneuvered himself into a position to shoot people."

As for "the job" - I don't know? I could speculate, but speculation is cheap and influenced by your own biases about the topic.
On the one side - The militia claimed to be there to protect people and property. This 17-year-old, Kyle, a volunteer in the militia, claimed to be there to protect people and property. The town he's from is a town of 14K people - despite being across state lines, Kenosha is 30 minutes away, 100K people, and is probably the local "big city". A few news agencies have reported that Kyle was in some sort of student police cadet program. Maybe he felt a moral duty to help people subject to violence - there certainly have been calls on social media from those who felt/were victimized by police during the protests and riots for armed members of the public to come help protect them. You could spin the story that he's just an innocent young man who went to an area of violent riots and shootings with the intent of protecting people and property from that violence, and ended up a victim of it himself.
On the other side - You could also easily spin it that maybe his participation in this student police cadet program had already sucked him into the propaganda surrounding police and the blue line bullshit that is really half of what people are protesting about. Maybe he had already adopted the "us vs them" mindset. The militia's leader(s) had apparently been in contact with the Kenosha police chief in the past about coming to Kenosha and had been ordered to stay away. Apparently this time, they were not. There is video of the police, in their armored trucks, handing out water and words of thanks to the militia for being there. For all I know the militia, especially Kyle, was there to "support" the police in actions that the police themselves couldn't take *wink wink*.
Which is why speculation about motivation is useless.

This is the kind of story-spinning that many "news" media outlets thrive on, and drives the divide.

Funny. Each individual sees themselves as the logical moderate in a sea of far-right and far-left folks. I think the left and the right both have strong emotional response to propaganda - it's become a part of our daily lives, even for those who make an effort to limit it, and that's how the majority of it we're exposed to work. It's part of the reason that the divide is widening. What's I'm pissed about is, that, even on SA, in the chat thread of a car subform that's mostly supportive, cool dudes and dudettes, nobody is calling out that some of the comments in this tread are just transcriptions of that same old emotionally-laden propaganda.

"justify the killing of some people he doesn't agree with"? Who're the people I don't agree with, here? The peaceful protesters, the rioters and looters, or the guys who assaulted a 17 year old who was running away from an angry mob?

In completely not wold-politics related things, I am looking into building or buying a sheet metal brake, just a light one for now. The decision really comes down to if I can build a comparable one with what I have hanging around, or can buy raw stock cheaply.
I'm looking at this style to build:

There are plenty of similar ones on YT and Instructables. I have a bunch of angle hanging around, but the problem is that it's all bed frame, so doesn't have a sharp corner. How much does that matter? I figure as long as the top clamp piece is sharp-ish, it shouldn't, but I've never tried one.

The cheapest built alternative is the HF 30" benchtop at $65, which seems like a deal. I'm not quite at the $300-and-up heavy duty one (yet.) Plus, I think my sister still has a 3-in-1 sheet metal machine (finger brake, shear, and slip roll) that belonged to her late fiancee which I will buy if she still has it.
I also found an instructable for a wee little vise mount brake, which I never thought of doing before. I'll build that first as a test.

You're not going to be able to get a really SHARP corner in metal over a tiny thickness anyway, it's more about the angle you're bending it to. I have a cheapo one but it seems to have a better edge than that does. It bends really well up to a couple of mm but it's not going to put a sharp crease in metal, there's always a slight curve to the corner.

I'm the absolute last person to take value of time into account, but how much is your time worth? I bought the 65 dollar HF 30in you mentioned and used it for drat near all of my HVAC ducting. It's well worth the price, though you need to buy a couple C clamps to use with it (if you don't have em already) and keep in mind that if you need the full 30in bend width, your C clamps need to be deep throated enough for the narrow side of the bend. It's not particularly great if you need to do narrow Z bends (like each leg of the Z is within 1 inch of the other) either, I cut myself a second clamping plate out of 1/2" x 1/8" angle iron for the few narrow Z bends I needed to do.

Thank you both. Experience is valuable to me, pro or not.
It's sort of a toss up - I enjoy building things, but there is value in just buying the tool if it's cheap but good enough. It's worth noting that $65 not spent here can go for a different, tool, say towards this Wen portable band saw. Or the same at Home Despot, only $6 more!

In any case, I can make a small bench one first as a trial, just for fun.
