cats have significantly higher temperature tolerance/preference than humans, I wish I had known this before driving up my electric bill with 24/7 AC last year of course now it's 24/7 AC again because neither of the humans ever leave the house but whatever

shadow used fort warms briefly and then just stopped. the oranges have shown no interest at all. seville likes to sleep in the window perch, which has been quite sunny

VA goon reporting in, the idiots mostly ignore the heated beds during the summer in favor of nice warm windows and the cat tree next to my desk in prime petting position but during the winter they live in the heated beds and I don't even let it get cold in the house.

my cat was being a cute goober so I got my head in close to his and tried to sniff like a cat. that must have been terribly offensive or aggressive in cat because he pulled back and stared at me with super wide eyes. I walked away but he was just like with slit pupils for a while

Apparently when cat mums think the kitten is exploring too far they sometimes nip off the kitten's whiskers to slow them down. Anyway the current critter room kitten is very confident.

Buff Hardback posted:what are people who live in warm climates thoughts on fort warms I have many a picture of Sadie in Fort Warms in a summer sunbeam at my old place. the lovely single pane windows let through 100% of the sun's heat and the AC only managed to keep it 82 in the Texas summer, so I got an IR thermometer reading of well over 120° on her fur.
