Cody's stupidity is so deep and profound Werner Herzog is currently monologuing about it without even knowing who he is.

Eh, some people get almost 0 symptoms beyond a bit of a cough for a day. Some people end up in the icu.

While the ufc are for sure cunts and Cody is for sure dumb as gently caress. There is a scenario where these guys are pretty much completely fine and just need their contagious period to end.

I mean you're not wrong but I'm pretty sure half the UFC roster would go through with it as well because A. a title shot is a Big loving Deal and could go to the next guy in your stead and who knows when your next chance will be and B. Dana might wake up on the wrong side of the bed and call you an entitled pussy for not doing what he wants and sidetrack your career

imo it should be on the UFC to step in and tell him to heal up while the fight gets put on the back burner

There's a bunch of quite specific aspects to Cody's position that make this way, way loving dumber.

What is the minimum yall think the UFC would allow between date of 2nd confirmation test and a fight, 2 weeks?

If I'm right on the dates Cutelaba tested positive and was supposed to be back in the cage within 18 days.

Reasonable— wonder what the test frequency is after a confirmed positive. Not daily, right?

I wouldn't think so i think its mandatory 2 weeks and then a retest. If the ufc is paying for it they might check again a week later. I think thats why the people showing no symptoms are so hard to predict.

As long as the UFC is allowing these guys to back out without repercussions I’m not sure what the problem is? People take fights on short notice all the time, and I’m sure the fighters actually want to be involved in the fights.

Championship matches are tent pole events. It's not as straightforward when people come on at short notice. When fighters do late stage replacements, they generally know how the fights going to go.

This was already debunked. It was highly suspicious from the get go, seeing as how there hasn’t been a single case in any of the professional sports.

If he loses it means he wasn't ready.
If he wins he'll be in hte middle of a packed division without the necessary experience to hang with the best in the world.
I see this as a horrible match-up. I might be wrong though.

not only did they do this, but because there's a big contingent of the fanbase that hates the new game and is sticking to UFC 3, they patched them into the going-on-three-years-old UFC 3 too

For next month anyone have ill feelings about adding a section of the OP thats more or less a "I'm new to MMA help me" section? As in who the movers and shakers are in the UFC are (eg who is Dana White) as well as where to get news and updates? I wanna make these threads as easy for a new person to check out and get involved with as possible.

Having read the feedback or whatever thread recently, I guess it would be better to have an every person's guide to MMA and so on in the thread title. Maybe a link to relevant YouTube for a history lesson, fighting in the age of loneliness springs to mind.

Ill be honest, I think the thread is more welcoming than it once was, can talk about this more in the other thread if you want but we've had a couple of new posters floating in this year and they mostly seem to be sticking around.

Make the newbie info section like 3 paragraphs long and quote post it every time.

Though we did have a fight sports newbie question thread until recently. Maybe that can just be updated.
