On the topic of what would English vtubers do to distinguish themselves, that's probably just as much an issue for Japanese. Today Polka had a planning stream, literally just brainstorming and planning together with viewers what a regular program of hers could be. Hololive had a big gaffe at the start of August where several game publishers demanded they take down monetized videos of their games. Later they've reached agreements with some of them but there's still lots of holes. They just removed old videos wholesale, most were privated but Subaru had hers outright deleted.
