Definitely play through the game before you decide. (Unless you’re doing a blind video LP or something.) Both because you should see what you’re getting into, there is a LOT of text, and also just so you can enjoy the game on your own.

Nankidai seems to be quite fond of doing little sketches of the characters; sometimes standalone, sometimes with a little joke. I think there's too many to post, but here are a few of his sketches: Sara is made of wet paper -    Kai the pulley (in spite of Keiji's best efforts) -    Kai's kitchen utensils -    Keiji only cares for Mishima -    After 100 days on the island -  Sou loses his hat in an arm wrestling match -   Joe the hermit crab -  Welcome to the year of the Rat -  Anzu and Kurumada -  If everyone was the mastermind -   Gashu as a student -  (There's hardly any sketches of Gashu, I think Kugie has more.)Blooper 1 - Mishima's collar only got slightly warm -  Blooper 2 - If no one could understand the rules -  Blooper 3 - If everyone survived until chapter 2 -  (Joe apparently gave his hair clip to Ranger.)Pudding Kanna -  Nao styling Ranmaru's hair -  Miley tells Joe that if a person licks their collar, the collar will fall off. No one believes Joe and he ends up needing Safalin after trying to prove everyone wrong -    Sara and Keiji enlist Sou's help to change the bulb in the mirror room -  Keiji uses Joe to test out some flower seeds -    Sou and Joe go to Karaoke -  Fluffy Nao -  Kai loses composure -  If you want to check out more sketches, they can all be found on Nankidai's Twitter (all captions in Japanese): 2017, 2018, 2019 There's a 3-1B spoiler in the 2020 Tweets, so I won't add that link for now.

Bear in mind the next release won't be the finale, 3-1 was split into 2 parts (3-1A was rushed out a bit to coincide with the release of the manga), it's the second part of 3-1 that should hopefully be coming out in January or February. 3-2 might well be another year off.

Bumping this so it doesn't end in archives. Still no confirmed release date for 3-1B; Nankidai is aiming to release something "people have long been waiting for" on the 28th, but is unsure whether he'll be able to make that date. Update: 3-1B is more or less finished, it's just a matter of resolving a few lingering bugs now. A "demo" has been released for players to help Nankidai track down said lingering bugs. Once that's done, 3-1B will be officially released, hopefully a translation will shortly follow.

According to a Twitter post, VGPerson will be using the demo to get a head start on translation so it should be pretty quick...And, apparently they removed all instances of the phrase "among us" in the latest patch. Not going to verify that one, but I want to believe.
