According to the Association of Cricket Statisticians, he has the most FC hundreds of any active player though: https://stats.acscricket.com/Records/First_Class/Overall/Batting/Most_Centuries_in_Career.html

test matches are first class matches

Lazy afternoon today, so I looked through his scores.

2 test match hundreds for England v West Indies (1998) and Australia (2001)
1 hundred for England A v Sri Lanka A (1991)
3 hundreds for England XI in tour matches vs West Indies Board President's XI (1994), South Australia (1998), Indian Board President's XI (2001)

45 hundreds for Middlesex in the County Championship
1 hundred for Middlesex vs Cambridge University

58 hundreds for Surrey in the County Championship
3 hundreds for Surrey vs universities (Cambridge, Oxford and Loughborough)

1 hundred for 'The Rest' (trial match between England A and 'the Rest' in 1997)

His best team record for his career was against Leicestershire - 20 matches, 27 innings, 2114 runs at 88.08, 7 hundreds, 11 fifties
His worst was against the West Indies - 16 tests, 29 innings, 591 runs at 21.10, 1 hundred, 1 fifty

Not exactly a great shock that the West Indies were harder to face than Leics from 1989-2001 I suppose...

It was the entire time that Marcus Stoinus was at the crease. He kept saying how huge he was and how he was the hulk and how he was a massive man look at his arms

honestly it was at least 20 mins

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.

Hey, Australia beat england. Good job lads. Especially you Mitch Marsh, but you still suck you garbageman, stay away from the test team.

More seriously, I think it is very close to the time when Australia just don't pick Steve Smith in T20s anymore. He just doesn't seem that good at them. I can see leaving him in the ODI team because every now and then Aus will collapse and it will be good to have at least one player in the side who can bat properly and can rebuild in those situations (see the Windies match and England semi-final from the world cup as examples), but even then it that format I would slide him down the order if Aus has a good start and in those cases you want people coming in who can tee off.

Smith is good in tests because he's patient and came wait for the bowler to come to him, in the shorter forms he has to play his shots more and it just doesn't seem to suit him at all.
