So today’s episode is the Patreon WHT ep of Ready Player One. It’s honestly a great one, not the least Andrew’s bewildered “is this a poem?!” and one of my favorite Eric bits: Trump at the wailing wall.

Omg it just kept going and going. My skin was crawling so bad during that poem

Finally finished the While You Were Sleeping episode. I'd heard the title a bunch and assumed it was a horror film. I wasn't really too wrong. Good episode.

I did appreciate the Friends of Eddie Coyle reference from Chris. Terrific movie.

The original script for While You Were Sleeping was gender swapped? Holy poo poo, that's a horror show of a movie.

While You Were Sleeping is a movie I'm sort of shocked they didn't get to before now. I do love when they do romcoms though.

It reminded me of their bit in the Overboard episode on how that movie would become the scariest thing ever if the main characters were played by Anne Hathaway and Michael Shannon. Same casting would work in gender swapped WYWS.

If you can gender swap a movie and it becomes a horror movie, that means it was always a horror movie but the filmmakers (and probably the viewer) was sexist into thinking are weaker and quirkier and non-threatening.

I haven’t listened yet, but I was going to say re: constant making GBS threads on Korn that based on Steve’s track record of going to bat for garbage, he is definitely going to try to defend some of these tracks.

Really fun Korncast. I don’t care for that sort of music one bit but it was fun to hear their take on it.

I'll admit I was wrong on korncast, even if they did get some info wrong while reading wikipedia the entire time, which tells you everything. Freak on a leash was a single in spring of 99, where they had to stop showing the video on TRL because of Columbine (or just so a short clip avoiding the bullet.)

Didn't they get that they liked the singles because of cultural osmosis? They've just heard the songs hundreds of times and they don't think of them as a song anymore, it's just a nostalgia trip. Every song they never heard before sucked because every one sucks.

IDK I was too young to be into Korn in their heyday and I still feel like this album is REALLY frontloaded and then the last 75% is mostly godawful filler.

I don't like the first three or four songs, but there's like a spark there that isn't there in the baby rape song or whatever.

My wife got really into Bakshi last summer and had never seen any of his movies, so she bought the DVD sight unseen and insisted we watch it as soon as it arrived. She hasn't said a word about it, or him, since.

I went to bed last night turning on the latest episode. I fall asleep after like 5 minutes, and I wake up to hear Andrew talking about walking someone beat off in his house. I restart the episode, fall asleep again, and wake up hearing Steve talking about someone beating off in his house. What the gently caress is this episode about because it seems every 5 minutes its about little kid boners.

Listening to podcasts to fall asleep to is the only way I listen to podcasts anymore without a commute. I can usually get 2-3 nights out of each episode because I have to go back and pickup where I left off.

Wow same. I recently won a giftcard and spent it in true wireless earbuds so I can lie in my side with something playing in my ear. Occasionally I wake up to discover it went through half a playlist. Sadly I don't seem to have absorbed any knowledge in my sleep.

There's a few podcasts I listen to for that very reason. Might I recommend "Astonishing Legends"? Very vanilla, very long, very even tone and no yelling. Two nerds rambling about cryptozoology as skeptics. I also use Jim Harold's Campfire Stories, which is like a podcast where people call in with spooky stories that allegedly happened to them and it's also great.
I hope this isn't too offtopic. I'm trying to spread love.
