Setter is Better.
I don't know if he's any good but I love the rando American (Matt Jorgenson) that Movistar has, just because it's such a weird team for one to end up in. He won the points and finished well in a MTF at the Tour de l'Avenir last year.

He's from Boise so I was hoping he was Basque-American but apparently not.

He's young. He'll get another go.

He's really good, Remco(tm) got all the press for winning San Sebastien last year but Hirschi was third, also as a neo-pro.

I remember giving him an outside shot for a good finish in Worlds last year but he got to chill in the pack while Kung dieseled in the winning break from about 60k from the end.

e) speaking of the 2019 Worlds, Trentin signed for UAE. CCC seems like they're in deep trouble, and always seemed like an odd fit for him.

We had not left it yet, but when I would wake in the night, I would lie, listening, homesick for it already.

They talked about it on one of the early stages, CCC are a huge retail company that are in trouble due to covid-19, would be terrible to lose another major sponsor.

It’s not an if. CCC is pulling out. NTT is pulling out. McLaren is pulling out.

Seems like that was the deadline for the submission of test results by doctors - so announcements of teams being kicked out could still occur after

I guess we'll know all the results once the stage starts? Cause I expect any positives won't be starting today.

Apparently 1 DQS person is having to be retested, this is more tense than a giant mountain stage.

Have to say I am a little surprised that amid all that was going on not a single rider caught Corona. Wonder what next week will look like though.

May 9, 2014

I mean, even with 5000 new cases per day in France, or 35000 per week, that's still just 0.058% of the population. Assuming a completely random distribution the odds of all 176 riders not catching Covid19 in 7 days are 90,2% if may napkin maths didn't betray me. I think the main problem isn't the probability of someone being positive, the problem is the difficulty of it not spreading like a wildfire as soon as it happens.

The support staff are almost certainly the guys stood on the side of the road swamped by the crowds. Thankless job made even worse that they'll be sent home and not paid for the rest of the tour.

They test ad hoc as well if anyone is displaying symptoms. I’m still dubious if they actually stick to their guns if it would eliminate a leader.
