Mito also has some of my favorite out-of-context clips. I can't explain why, I think it's just that she's got comedic timing perfected down to the millisecond, so even a weird or dorky joke just lands perfectly.

I like Botan the most because her facerig is the best out of all of them and so she’s very expressive and easy to watch. Polka is hilarious as I posted above. Lame and Nene I don’t know much about.

Polka is my favorite 5th gen just for pure chaotic energy, but Botan is a lot of fun too. She's basically a hardcore PC gamernerd as a vtuber, and who couldn't relate to that? Lamy and Nene are nice too and I'll watch them on collabs sometimes with Polka and Botan, but I've got too many other streamers to watch right now. Hololive EN isn't going to make this any easier.

Do the other They others are not supposed to be gamers so they just play whatever games are popular for streaming purposes since they are a good, easy way to create content. Besides that it's still a bit to early to tell since they are still playing their intended character so who knows how are they going to develop. Polka is a bit too overengineered with the props, noises, and other "forced" stuff (I guess I don't like her gimmick) so I don't enjoy her channel that much. But she's smart and has experience so I bet she'll improve her act quite a bit. Lamy is kinda stuck on her nice mama character. Nene is dumpling lady and about as interesting as a dumpling. Give them time and some collabs with the Gens 3 & 4 to evolve their chars.

Yeah, out of HoloFive, Botan and Lamy have pretty much found a niche and firmly established their personalities, while Nene and Polka are still kinda out there. Botan is, of course, the PC gaming lion, who builds her own computers, is skilled at FPSes and has opinions about things like keyboards, mouses, graphic cards, etc. She also talked about how she loves Civilization series and how she hopes she will be able to set-up a Civilization multiplayer streams with other Hololive members, which is honestly something I want to see.  Lamy got basically pigeonholed the second she spoke, because she has voice that is perfect for motherly, caring character, which is good, because that's exactly who she is. You either like that kind of archetype in which case you will probably love her or you don't care/hate it, in which case she doesn't offer much else. She is great in collabs though, because she is basically perfect straight man, eternally tolerant, if slightly worried, about antics of basically every other Holofive members. Also really bad at horror games and really good chemistry with Botan. Nene, meanwhile has adorable personality, great chemistry with other members in collabs, is pretty good singer, can draw good...ish and can be a surprisingly competent gamer but kinda struggles with finding her own niche. People seem to love bullying her and she is both adorable and a good sport about it, so she might be on something there... But she is definitely the one member of Holofive whose personality has yet to fully develop. And Polka is a chaos gremlin and has shades of Pekora, Miko, Coco, Haachama and Marine, depending on how she feels today. However I agree with trucutru in that both her character and her act are a bit over-designed and while every Vtuber ends being a composite of the character and the person behind it, Polka feels that she is still like 90-95% acting, so I feel she is still far from fully developed character. That being said, she has pretty incredible range, does a lot of interesting, unexpected stuff like when she read those bedtime horror(?) stories and while some of her streams have been misses for me, when she hits, she hits hard.
