However, I do think the fact that firefox is hanging around is the main thing that has stopped google from implementing the change that will cripple adblocking.

I have history turned off so only bookmarks show up when I type into the URL bar. That said, I've noticed this weird phenomenon, where the order of the bookmarks changes. I get used to typing "wea" and the weather is at the top of the list. Then later, my target weather bookmark when typing "wea" appears somewhere in the middle of the list. I have no idea what is causing the bookmarks to reorder. It didn't use to happen, then one day, it began.

You can also give your bookmark a keyword, so that hitting "wea" and then ENTER just gets you your weather page, no matter what.

^^^^ Sadly, true. Modern browsers are like modern cars. No dipstick to check the oil, no spare tyre, and those stupid panels under the bonnet to prevent you from even seeing the engine. Wouldn't want anything to get in the way of the intended driver experience. This latest update has gently hosed up a bunch of stuff for me - mainly that pages aren't displaying right. They'll load, but won't display until I scroll up and down a little, then suddenly appear. And everything feels just that much slower. It's also the first update in a while to break multirow tabs. But that's always a chance, so I'll just wait for the fix to appear on github. Serves me right, really, for not waiting a couple weeks like I usually do before updating.

Apparently one of the updates at some point disabled webrender for people with high refresh rate displays (I didn't manually enable it in about :config), and I didn't notice until now. I just force-enabled it. Megillah Gorilla, if you also have a high refresh rate display it might be worth checking if the same happened to you. Or maybe disabling it would help, if you have it enabled. about :support will tell you which you're using in the Graphics table -> Features -> Compositing (will say WebRender if it's enabled)

I have encountered two image uploaders that submit a corrupt image and provide a corrupt thumbnail. Godaddy's Contact Us page chat and another one that is proprietary. The result is a corrupt, basic colored/patterned image no matter the format used for the upload.

Then I tried restarting Firefox in safe mode - all threads loaded with no issue. EDIT 2: Now I'm playing the fun game of turning on/ff everything and reloading a bunch of pages. It ended up being the extension dark reader loving things up, even though I had it set to off for SA. Disabling that fixed it right away. Considering safe mode fixed it if check all your extensions

Well, I found out what was making all the SA threads go fucky and not load properly. Download Manager (S3) Yeah, I don't understand it either. I've checked this on multiple reloads of both Firefox and Windows now with turning it on and off and it's definitely the culprit. Of all the extensions I'm running, I would have ranked Download bloody Manager as the least likely to be causing page load issues.

Nothing good I'm sure. But I've noticed image heavy pages are now loading a LOT faster. I know a lot of goons started using it when Firefox made their big change and a tonne of extensions stopped working. It was the consensus best candidate in several threads to replace the original Download Manager. So I wonder how many are having this issue now and simply haven't made their way here. EDIT: I've just a quick bit of googling on this Oleksander and, welp. Turns out he'd stuck in spyware into the same bloody extension a few years ago and Firefox had forced him to remove it.
