If you watch shows in the 90s you'll hear jokes about "Made in Taiwan" Then China basically used its human leverage to make things that were even cheaper than what Taiwan was offering to make things.

The orb itself was apparently given to the US embassy, and stood in a hallway for a while as a popular prop for taking selfies. At some point it vanished into storage. I do hope someone is keeping track of it so it can go in the eventual Presidential library. Its sheer ridiculousness would make it so perfectly appropriate.
