I only asked because they said the game was just scheduled a week ago, but it’s possible that C-USA is just having to re-arrange its conference slate.

The non-conference game between teams on the same conference isn’t unprecedented though, it happened with two ACC teams a year or two ago in a normal-rear end season.

I’ve remembered them ever since EA forgot to put them in NCAA Football in their first FBS season.

Normally I would say it's not one of the in-division games nor a regular scheduled non-division game so it doesn't count towards conference standings but this is Covid-19 hell year and I don't see how that fit in the truncated schedule.

Edit: yeah it happened in the ACC because the four NC teams got split between divisions and otherwise wouldn't play each other as much.

If this was in reference to USA vs UAB then no. South Alabama is in the sun belt.

I've seen a few articles discussing Florida's chances at a national title this season. And so I await an opening day loss against Ole Miss.

I think a better question should be: why are Louisville and Kentucky ranked?

Kentucky is good. Louisville isn't, but the media was all over Satterfield for some reason.

In fairness Satterfield was great at app state. This is only year 2 of trying to fix Petrino's mess on defense and post Lamar Jackson offense. Tutu Atwell at receiver and Javian Hawkins is a good skill position combo to have.

Kentucky is a legit team and will probably end up with one of the best defenses in the SEC. The offense hasn't exactly taken the step forward yet and the loss of Benny Snell is huge. They should still be a decent rushing team while the passing game has to prove itself still.

You mean Lynn Bowden? UK lead the SEC in rushing last year after losing Benny Snell two years ago. Three legit running backs return and the O line is one of the best in the country. Yes, the passing game is the question. Terry Wilson is back but how does he respond after injury, and who catches passes after they were mostly blockers last year?

Yeah, I was just talking steelers at home is why I mentioned Snell. Bit of a brain fart there. My point still stands about the defense and rushing game still stand.

It just strikes a nerve when Louisville kept getting ranked higher in preseason polls despite UK beating them by about 1000 points the past two years. No respect for the Cats nationally.
